I definitely do not think that about DSC. I like DSC! We are in the middle of a trek renaissance and all people can do is crap on the whole franchise and it’s sad.

This is great news. Hopefully it will be the essence of Star Trek: the starship Enterprise doing cool stuff!
It strikes me as very odd.
There is very little Trek I dislike actively. Sure, I like some more than others. That's natural when you have 7 series, 13 movies, Short Treks, etc. But being up-in-arms over something I think is below par?

This. No season-spanning arcs. None of that. Just Pike and the Enterprise doing cool missions like they did in classic Trek.
Horray! Yeah, it'd be good to have a mostly episodic show (With ongoing arcs), to be a change of pace from the heavily arc driven ones.
I can already say I'll vehemently loathe everything about this show because it's about 95% certain (allowing for the standard error) it won't feature a surviving Captain Killy, who has escaped from Rura Penthe and became a space pirate, as a recurring villain. How dare CBSAA not cater to every single one of my whims and headcanons? The nerve!

I don’t have a big issue with arcs, but I’d really like a Trek show that explores strange new worlds and the rest of the prologue. I have “fate of the universe” fatigue, palace intrigue fatigue, and rogue AI fatigue. I like the shows! But man if I’m not jonesing for a return to the roots of the franchise.
Considering Phlox should still be alive during this time period, I don’t see why not.
Phlox and Boyce interacting with each other could be interesting to see.
While to some extent, I agree and sympathize, if you go back through the entire franchise, I believe you'll find that maybe 20% of all the stories were geared toward exploration and boldly going.
For god's sake, don't make me create a jar for this.
