Starfleet Academy Official Trailer

Oh good points
As time goes on more and more incompatibilities like this are going to build up around Discovery's future.

Like Earth's shield in Picard S3 being capable of holding off a fleet of hundreds of ships for hours, yet the 800 year more advanced planetary shield in Discovery having relatively slow moving rocks punch through it.

Or the entire S5 of Discovery revolving around a fear of a Genesis like technology that we know from Lower Decks S4 Finale has been in mass production for 800 years.

Or S3 of SNW where they introduced an entirely new non-dilithium type of fuel capable of propelling a ship at moderately high warp speeds.

All that together, means the writers are going to be stuck a rock and a hard place. Either they basically have to adapt everything in future Trek around Discovery's future. or they have write that future off as a an alternate timeline.

The slow blade penetrates the shield.

O'Niell: I knew that.

Commander Taggert: We'll do that.

In Discovery Season 3 the Discovery needed a way to send Georgio either back to her own universe or back in time. Georgio wanted to go back but was told that was impossible.

In Discovery Season 4 the whole B plot was about random scientist guy trying to travel dimensions to find the "perfect" alternate universe with the only way that he could do so being by stealing the power of the DMA.
There's like...six hundred years between the stories. More than plenty of time for that portal to go kaput for some reason.

Not a thing in Star Trek, in fact, it's the opposite of how things work.
Commander Taggert: We'll do that.
Except Picard, Prodigy, Lower Decks, and SNW all did the opposite of that and just wrote what they wanted without caring about Discovery's future.

It was very specifically stated as being both Permanent and Load Bearing.

Meaning it's still around until canon has someone in universe directly state otherwise.

It being referred to as permanent doesn't mean that it can't be dismantled, destroyed, or just plain not-maintained in the proceeding six centuries.

Not that it matters, but I don't recall them calling it "load-bearing"?
