Spoilers Starfleet Academy General Discussion Thread

I am preemptively feeling bad for the Moderators of this particular forum and other Star Trek websites.
Come Jan 15 the entire thing is gonna blow up with the power of a thousand quantum torpedoes.
It'll be no different than the forums for the other shows are when their seasons are airing. Just here we'll have more complaints about Gen Z tending their Zen Gardens or whatever it is Zoomers are believed to engage in according to the stereotypes.

Wow there's a lot to unpack in those 4 minutes but they were a good 4 minutes, I'm kind of annoyed that I watched it because now the wait feels very long.

At first I thought that was a Kreetassan on the bridge but then nah.

The Doctor finally speaks in a preview! But "medical staff are in short supply" due to damaged holo-emitters, seriously the Athena doesn't have a full medical staff of organics? Don't tell me, Tuesday?

I guess the captain is allergic to retinax or maybe she just feels glasses make her look smarter

God how I've missed the 32nd century aesthetic

Looks like a good Star Trek show to me and certainly looks like there's more to it than just teenagers teenaging. I couldn't get on with Prodigy because it was just too much about and aimed at young children but so far this looks like a decent show aimed at a broad range of audiences.

who would have thought it? looks like Star Trek to me, and looks nothing like 'One Tree Hill' or whatever haters were complaining about
It's almost as if one cannot adequately judge a series based on a single promotional poster.

Did you though?

Explicitly stated he frequently imagined her getting old and having cups of tea with her and then he saw her when his thoughts turned real. His imagination which he would obviously recognise.

She wasn't real in the scene in TNG so no it isn't.

Bad analysis.
He had suppressed his mom's suicide for nearly 80 years and imagined her as an old woman and believed it. Totally ridiculous. Season 2 was worse than season 1. I never thought that would be possible. Im glad matalas came in to salvage the last season.

Season two of Picard is the most singular thing ever produced. Let's take a moment to remember that Evil Brent Spiner ran over android Picard with an electric car (while Seven of Nine was trying to intercept an ICE truck) which caused Picard to enter a coma in which he remembered how his mother was locked in the attic like Bertha from Jane Eyre. Then he got some Borg stuck in the wall of his childhood home and just never noticed them.

I might have the exact chain of events wrong there but that's only because every single one of them in isolation is too powerful for me to comprehend.

I laughed just writing that out. Say what you will about it but it's an extraordinary piece of television, most of the streaming era Trek has just inspired boredom for me but Picard season two inspires absolute awe, even if for all the wrong reasons. There is simply nothing like it.

Salvage it? Season three is utter fanwank nonsense, and undercuts some of the best parts of the previous seasons.

Picard and Beverley having a secret son (who has secret Borg DNA inherited from Picard's secret Borg DNA), a secret Data with all of his memories, the Enterprise D being revived and saving the day, etc, are far more ridiculous than the scene you're misinterpreting.

We reach.

Season 3 is dumb as dirt, but at least I had fun with it. Can't say that about Season 2.
