Starfleet Academy General Discussion Thread

It may not be a logical stance, but I'll be pretty annoyed if SFA sticks their fingers into the arguably still-wet concrete of Ben Sisko's ultimate fate.

I'd much rather that concrete never fully set.

Excited for the stories, the Academy ship and Sisko related mysteries. Disappointed on the emphasis on the Klingons. Fucking again with the Klingons? :brickwall:
Meh. We saw neither hide nor hair nor headridge of any Klingons in the last three seasons of Discovery and they've barely been a factor in Strange New Worlds. Frankly, in the 32nd century, they've been conspicuous with their absence. Besides, they're part of the Star Trek tapestry. Complaining about including Klingons in a Star Trek show is like complaining that they're putting Star Trek in your Star Trek.

And I will.

I'm going to be honest... I don't trust them to deal with such a huge part of DS9. I'd rather them not try to mess with the greatest captain in the franchise.

DISCO didn't do anything AT ALL with the Klingons starting with season 3... not even a mention, really.

PICARD was also absent Klingons for its entire run, except for Worf in season 3. But he is such an integral part of the TNG cast, he couldn't NOT be included, if Dorn was available.

SNW has only done a few with Klingons.

I actually think it makes sense for ACADEMY to deal with the Klingons, particularly since the 32nd century has been entirely absent of them.

I'm sure I'm alone in my opinion but I stand by it. 32nd century was better without them.

Daniels in "Zero Hour(ENT)" did say that the Klingons eventually joined the Federation by the time of the Battle of Procyon V circa 2570, so this new cadet might shed some light on when the Empire finally did so. If we don't see too many Klingons in the new series I'm fine with it.

I've noticed that about you.
Hey, fans complain about Kurtzman all the time. They have their thing and I have mine.
