The JJ-verse had Christopher Pike only end up in a Wheel Chair without full debilitation and dependence on a machine to speak / communicate.Show creators could violate continuity and keep Pike around for a good long time, or get creative to honor continuity and still keep him around for a good long time. The seeds of the latter may be sown tonight.
No, I haven't seen the episode. But I have seen Pike's character and understand the intent behind the decision he made. There's clearly a dramatic intention here, and it's not going to be that he finds a cheat to escape his fate. I'm guessing that this episode only reinforces that.Just like the other dude, I'm guessing you already seen the Episode. So you know what going happen at the end. Don't you. Even I don't even know what the ending will be. That is a wait and see that. It could end the way you and some others want it to end. Or, it might end the way I and other think it will end. What ever it will be it will be.
If the link work? Here the one from Picard and yes that Model is base off the model from Balance Of Terror. There's a clear shot of it in a new clip, it's the Picard model.
I just meant it wasn't a new model for SNW.If the link work? Here the one from Picard and yes that Model is base off the model from Balance Of Terror.

I'm sure they can change his ending so that he survives for the most part with minor injuries.
I personally wouldn't mind if he slips underneath the blast door at the last minute and just loses his right arm & left leg due to the blast door amputating them while saving the cadets.
Then he would need cybernetic replacements without full debilitation. Then he can become Cyborg Admiral Christopher Pike.
Did you consider perhaps that was meant to be an intentional parallel? They've basically turned him into the Federation's First Servant who suffers horrifically so his people can be free,
Saying you have a "hate-on" regardless if it's accurate or not, is not "name calling."And the namecalling at the end of your post is completely uncalled for.
He was only in a wheelchair at the end of Trek XI. In STID he was walking again, though with a cane. The JJ-verse had Christopher Pike only end up in a Wheel Chair without full debilitation and dependence on a machine to speak / communicate.
And then?Did you consider perhaps that was meant to be an intentional parallel?

I loved that Pike too.And JJ-verse killed Pike. Bastards. I loved Greenwood's take on the character.
Well, I guess he didn't need the cane anymore. And then?![]()
I think this going to be a new time line with Pike staying Captain of the Enterprise instead of Kirk. That base on the photos of James Kirk, which show him having Captain rank. I do see Pike being promoted to Admiral, staying onboard the Enterprise and James Kirk coming Captain of the Enterprise. It would be kind of like Voyage To The Bottom of The Sea. I think that Captain Pike and Captain Kirk will be a good team.
We also have to see if they don't kill off Sam Kirk.

.
So I wonder what entity is doing this to Pike? I’m guessing it’s the Talosians
I've thought about the Talosians too. I also thought about other speculations too.It would be interesting to see if it was the Talosians, because if it is... it kind of puts everything "future" Pike has to say into doubt. Maybe the Talosians just want to screw with him so he doesn't leave Vina alone. Maybe it was their plan all along (paradoxes are fun.)Maybe their lie about the future is because Vina is painfully boring on her own with her daydreams of fake!Pike, so they want a real human. Maybe Vina's sexcapades are boring and they need Pike's experienced space booty to come spice things up.
Oh apologies. I misread your post. The clip is why I mentioned it…….
