Star Trek Rotten Tomatoes Rating

I can barely sleep with anticipation. Not only is TREK coming out in just a few days, but one of my closest and dearest friends is about to have her second baby through a C-section! This week is bound to be awesome!

The reviews have been beyond my expectations. Even TDK had negative reviews by now.

The first critic to post a negative review is going to be flamed

Certified Fresh = at least 40 reviews, 75% positive, 5 from top reviewers.

Star Trek has 4 top reviewers fresh. If it gets 1 more, and 1 more other review that's fresh, it's guaranteed to be Certified Fresh since the next 10 reviews in a row can be negative and it'll still meet the criteria.

I hope Ebert and Roeper dig the film if they don't already. Their reviews do more than most others in the industry to boost business.

who're these 4 top reviewers you speak of?

If you click "Top Critics" it only shows the reviews by them.

Variety
ReelViews
Hollywood Reporter
New York Magazine

are the Top Critics that have given Star Trek a fresh review so far. Supposedly Top Critics are the better critics, including the likes of Roger Ebert in their ranks.

The guy who replaced Roger Ebert on his TV show "At the movies" likes it, so hopefully they do too.

oh right. okay.

*clicks*

I don't keep up but have many films been greated by so many glowing reviews in a while?

Well, Star Trek is already up to #86 on the all-time "Best of Rotten Tomatoes" list and it will only climb higher so long as it remains at 100% and the reviews keep coming in. Of course, it will only take one rotten review to permanently knock it way down that list.

Not meaning to rain on this parade, and I am very much looking forward to seeing ST on day one, but....

It can't last. SOMEBODY, maybe few, but SOMEBODY won't like the thing.

For those interested take a trip to IMDB and you'll see some low star reviews in the user comments section.
