Honestly, I wouldn't mind a sequel. The cast was good and there were some interesting character setups. We could actually get something good out of it with a tighter script and (and, yes, I appreciate the irony here) maybe a different director.

Sure, why not? I’m all for the school “the writing is almost everything” and have nothing against the cast.

I hated the first two Star Trek reboot movies and loved the third, same cast and general look, very different feeling

Trouble is they messed up with the very first two words of the script: "Section 31". Hard to fix that for a sequel.

It‘s okay, I wasn‘t super serious there and knew what you meant. Although you did specifically say “It won”, which it didn‘t, because he won. A fine distinction, but not a totally unimportant one.
