From all indications, it was more successful than For the Love of Spock, and they believed To the Journey would be more successful than both.A certain set of goods were promised by them, they fundraised on said set of goods. Whether they're "enthused" doesn't matter. They took thousands of dollars from hundreds of donors - many of whom are in this thread - and are obligated to provide what they promised.
If no money was exchanged, it would be different situation. At this stage, one doesn't get to shrug and just say "oopsies, we don't feel like it."
