Also, I have a few thoughts on this:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wY3r0ZzBURPijmEX5c2L8LeqBCuF_oW7/view?usp=sharing

Possible explanations:
1. Quantum Slipstream Drive Core/Quantum Matrix (certainly has the color right)
2. Temporal core
3. Omega molecule core (it also has the color for it )
4. Transwarp drive core
5. Coaxial Warp core
6. Tetryon reactor (courtesy of Caretaker and Tash'a catapult) or Thermionic generator (from species 8472).

Thoughts?
Most likely transwarp. We already saw "trans warp" on the console in the first episode /first two episodes.

Did we?
I must have missed that bit. Screenshot?

Also, would TW really need a dedicated core for it?
Tom Paris was able to break Warp 10 (TW) with a shuttle. I would imagine 2 Warp cores for the Protostar to offer adequate protection during TW flight would be adequate... the blue Central core seems like something else... but I could be wrong.

Also: loved we saw two TOS-style Constitution-class starship holograms in Holographic Janeway's history presentation!
I think that was just an animation mistake. All the ships there lined up with the primary hero starfleet ship for all the previous live action TV series, and the ones we clearly see the Registry numbers of are the Registry number of those hero ships.

I liked it. I wonder what in the world a hologram could be drinking though or why a hologram of Janeway would be programmed to mimic her drinking coffee.

They had better rescue the kitten!
It’s definitely a kid’s show, though so far it doesn’t seem to talk down to them. I think a not insignificant number of people in the Federation would agree with Dal’s take on authority. It sounds good but there are always people at the bottom.

Except for the premise that the UFP doesn't work like that. Humanity moved away from that kind of vicious cycle when WW3 ended (eradicated war, poverty and disease - we can do the same since we had the technology, science, know how and the resources to do so for decades, and it can be done in LESS than 10 years... just not within Capitalism - we need to transition into something like Resource Based Economy as proposed by the Venus Project).

Simply speaking, there really AREN'T people at the bottom in the Federation... unless they choose that kind of life for themselves.
The Federation WILL provide aid if its requested, needed and welcome... but it also respects individuals right to choose... so if they WANT to live a certain way within UFP borders, the organisation will leave them alone to do so (remember that we saw examples of Luddite collectives in UFP... so, its not far fetched to think that some people may choose to live a very simple life without access to any technology, etc... but that still doesn't mean they live at the bottom).

I am curious about where this is located. There’s a Tellarite and a Caitian and a stranded Federation ship and apparently Klingon language is known, so they aren’t far from Federation space. Since Gwyn doesn’t seem to have a mother, I would be curious about how the Vau N' Akat reproduce. ‘Our Diviner’ could have done anything from cloning her to growing her in a tank using stored embryos to snatching her out of time. I doubt she’s the last of her kind if they intend to continue the race. The lines on her skin that turn silver could be a sign that her race absorbs power from a sun or some other sort of energy source to transform things.

The Delta Quadrant. We just don't know WHERE in the DQ.
Given that we saw a Kazon in the opening episodes, it would suggest a location close to Kazon space. Either that, or this particular Kazon was part of a group which left Kazon sects for other regions of the DQ closer to the AQ... or they may have started using the subspace corridors... or got a propulsion breakthrough from Jonas' data of Warp 10 when VOY experimented with it.

The method of reproduction bit sounds correct. But remember that Trek also had the highly advanced Vissians who used Progenitors for procreation and not medical technology (which to me was ridiculous).

I like Zero and the plummy tones of the actor doing the voice, though I seem to recall that Ambassador Kollos was male, so the Medusans actually do have gender. Miranda Jones suggested they are actually too beautiful to look upon, not too ugly, which is why the sight drives humanoids mad. So it’s probably more accurate to say Medusans are terrible and wonderful to look upon, like angels or gods, and strike people dumb with awe.

Or its just that due to their energy based nature, humanoid brains are unable to process the visual information they emit.
It could also be radiation and light pulse based (which wouldn't surprise me) that's delivered via the optic nerves and into the brain, essentially 'rewriting' it in the process to gibberrish which causes people to go mad.

Is there any evidence suggesting that some humanoids can build up a resistance to looking at Medusans or people who recovered (perhaps UFP developed the medical means to reverse the madness).

This one was ok too. Fun at times.

As I think was clear both before and after we could hear her translated voice, Rok-Tahk is a hothead and reacts aggressively at all manner of offense.

Dal has now climbed to actively annoying for me. I think my conjecture of him as a Talaxian may have something to it. (I never hated Neelix but he was sometimes very annoying.) What I found stupid was that Zero, Pog, and Rok-Tahk deferred to his authority by default. I guess it could just be their personalities, but they really should have just turned Janeway back on themselves.

Still not happy about having a fake Janeway, but Kate Mulgrew's textured voice and her drinking coffee were delightful.

New speculation: Maybe Protostar was designed to be an unmanned rescue ship like Dauntless was supposedly back in "Hope and Fear". Like, a genuine attempt to send a transwarp/slipstream ship to a distant place to help a lost crew return to home, without the baggage (or risk) of a crew going to the rescue. The Janeway hologram, being an advisor rather than a commander, allows the lost crew to feel comfortable in their own surviving command structure if that's necessary. And it would explain fake Janeway's outdated appearance: she specifically looks like the captain of the most famous lost ship in Federation history, whose commander brought her crew home mostly intact. With the famous look she had when that voyage began. Built-in morale booster. Who can get us home if not Kathryn Janeway?

The Blue Central Circle is the Bussard Collector, remember, the center nacelle pops out from the Dorsal Hatch when going "Trans-Warp"

I like this show a lot and I am trying to not get too annoyed with Dal because he's super annoying. I'm thinking/hoping he'll be toned down in his season arc and I hope it happens quickly, because, DAMN. He is annoying right now. Like a young relative that you can't yell at.

A bit random that a Discovery drawing was shown with the other Enterprises. In-universe this seems odd. I liked the industrial replicator with the 3d printing arms. The process of replicating the components while also assembling them rather than just replicating everything at once made for a good dramatic set piece, and makes the technology seem a little more techy than magicky.. gotta love that!
