The Borg are basically Trek's Daleks. They're popular, they're constantly defeated but they'll constantly be back. Sometimes it'll be just a few drones wreaking havoc, sometimes en masse, and other times with a desperate, dying leader trying to reclaim their species' glory days.

Personally I'm waiting on the multi-colored Paradigm Borg to make their debut.
There's something a lot more primal about the Borg than Daleks. I think the Daleks became popular because kids liked them, the Borg became popular because they gave people existential shivers.

To be fair, the Daleks also now Nick humans to convert, have done since about 1984.
On the other hand, in about the same season, the Cybermen went back in time to change the events of first contact with Mondas. Which tries to autocorrect to Mondays, so ain’t that true.

I haven't watched this episode, only clips of it but wasn't there a time when someone said 'Picard' series is not going to be a STNG reunion thing?
Well, yeah....

It's in vogue to mock the pedestal that he's been placed on by certain members of the fandom community.

I'm sure he's a very nice man and clearly knows what he's doing. He is, however, not the second coming.
Exactly.

Nope. He's good at what he does but he's not even Berman, Braga, Moore or Behr much less the next Roddenberry.
Indeed and he does excellent work, communicates and interacts with the fan base and clearly has a lot of fun being both a fan and a producer. That makes him good at his job.

That's it.
