But that shift doesn't come naturally. At least not in my experience with talking it out. I could tell you when the shift in my thinking happened regarding my current living situation but I could not tell you how it happened. I could not articulate it in a way that would aid in understanding because it's not just "OH, for years I felt this but I didn't get it." There are some things that just are difficult to articulate.I suppose I would have less of a problem with it if Will had talked more about the shift in his perspective from the time of "Nepenthe" to "The Next Generation." Even if it had only been something like, "You know, for years I really thought I'd come to a place of peace with my grief. But lately it's come back. I don't even really understand why. But I'm hurting, and I'm hurting Deanna." To me, the way it's been executed feels like it's undermining the place the emotional situation characters were in during "Nepenthe" rather than complicating it.
