Chancellor and commandant could be different roles. Similar to head of the board of governors and the head teacher at a (UK) School.

True. I'm good with this theory, then. Picard is involved with the Academy in his role as a retired Admiral so he'd know names of people he feels he might be able to trust with sensitive information.

At first, I thought it was the president of the UFP. But the president isn't called "chancellor." (then again, nuTrek sure does love its continuity goofs.)

Would there be a high-ranking Starfleet muckey-muck with that title?

But it's not the first time that I've heard his name amongst intelligence chatter. Plus, a few days ago, Changeling terrorists destroyed a Starfleet recruitment center with a portal weapon.

Does that sound familiar?

The same used by Vadic.

Mm. Let's take this to Admiral Janeway or Chancellor Roll.

I've tried.

Well, then let me. I certainly have some sway. Well, if you can get past their gatekeepers. I certainly couldn't.

It's likely they were talking about the leader of the Klingons or the leader of the Andorians.

The person in charge of the Academy is called a Commandant.

Loved Ro's return. Loved the characters getting their groove back.

Disliked the intrepid being being faceless and voiceless. Disliked that the Intrepid just sat there as the disaster unfolded. Surely some of the bridge crew should have been... er Captain...

Myopia...impacting Trek villains for decades.

The Chancellor of Starfleet Academy? But then that post was established all the way back in TNG and DS9 as being the Commandant of the Academy so if that's a change of the title it would still be odd for Picard to think the head of a potentially compromised body would be a good person to go to with hypersensitive information about a plot within Starfleet.
Picard was chancellor of the Academy in s2 and then retired, so that new chancellor is simply his successor, I think

The only thing that makes sense is that the shuttle's communications with Intrepid were blocked and the crew just thought Ro was headed towards the shuttlebay.

Someone mentioned that Ro's shuttle should've had a spacesuit to put herself in then fly out the airlock out of range of the transporter inhibitor. Unless the changelings beamed the spacesuits out too. Or worst case scenario jump out the airlock without the spacesuit and hope they can beam her out before she dies (I believe Archer did this in one episode of Enterprise)

Drama.

Have we seen any other Federation shuttles with suits?

Not sure.

Did they ever explain why Shaw or the Intrepid captain (changeling or no) didn't find it strange that Ro just single handedly and arbitrarily reassigned most of the Titan crew to the Intrepid?

Shaw probably was busy singing a tune about Picard and Riker facing the music. He may not have noticed, especially if Ro told Seven to have security escort crewmembers off.... Good question about the Intrepid Captain. Maybe she said something to the Captain beforehand.

Even if Worf was in Starfleet (unclear at this point) and even if he did have a higher rank than Ro, she could still have positional authority over him in Starfleet Intelligence.
So it is unclear if “Starfleet Intelligence” is a part of “Starfleet”?

Hmmm… interesting…

So that's the second time Ro has died in the past year. First in the NovelVerse on DS9 and now here.

But this method gave plenty of time for Ro to contact the Titan, or escape. The explosion would have been immediate if it was to look like an accident, as the events unfolded though there was plenty of time to give Ro options. By Ro contacting the Titan and confirming that there was a timed bomb planted by Changelings, Ro was implicating them as the culprits without any doubt, which may have been the intention.
The changelings plan was to make it look like the picard, Riker and maybe even Shaw tried to destroy the Intrepid. Remember that the changelings are promoting to Starfleet Command/ the Federation government is that Picard and Riker commandeered the Titan for some nefarious reason. The Intrepid was sent to bring them back; and they attacked/attempted to destroy the Intrepid while trying to make it look like an accident.
