That's right, she did. She appeared in that form so often and around other Dominion forces it's easy to forget.

Ro!!!!
I screamed with joy when she appeared on screen.
I love this season so much, enjoying ST again feels like good karma after watching 3 awful seasons of DSC trying to like it (with no success..).
Initially I wanted to give this one a 9, cause the Vulcan gangsta really annoyed me, but Ro and Picard scenes deserve an 11. So a second 10 in a row it is.

I wonder if one of the guest appearances will be Janeway, they keep mentioning her.

True, but that doesn't mean they will outclass the Titan, Intrepid, or other ships in the current era.

Like the Excelsior or Miranda class... they were around for almost a century, but they definitely didn't outshine a Nebula, Galaxy, Intrepid, etc.

I disagree with this. A Sovereign and Galaxy will definitely outclass titan, Intrepid, and other ships with lower ship-type than their ship designation. A Heavy Cruiser, despite an old one will still outclass a Destroyer Ship, and a Battleship will outclass a Cruiser ships. Plus Sovereign has bigger, and better weapon than the current Intrepid and Titan A. That's Quantum Torpedo and Phaser Array.

But a Galaxy and Sovereign is definitely being outclassed by the Enterprise F, if the Enterprise F is indeed has the same spec that I have read so far in Star Trek info around.

You should be aware that Titan A doesn't has Phaser Array,
Yes it does, it has 4 arrays on the saucer, 2 top and 2 bottom, plus 6 phaser turrets, 3 top and 3 bottom of the saucer.

Even the Female Changeling - the leader of the Dominion - could do no better than Odo when it came to humanoid faces. Clearly it was an enormous hurdle for their morphogenic matrix to overcome.
No, the leader of the Founders played by Salome Jens said that she and the other Changelings intentionally copied the face that Odo had. They could have chosen other faces if they wanted to, but they wanted to be welcoming and familiar to Odo upon his return to the Great Link. This was said in an episode, I forget which one. Could be ‘The Search’.

Founders can, through their morphogenic replication and biomimetic abilities, replicate any face that they want to with no problem such as when Bashir and Martok were ‘replaced’. Odo was quite simply not trained properly. Odo was not as in tune with his finer gelatinous motor skills as other Founders. Odo could have learnt to mimic humanoid faces more precisely during his time in the Great Link in the 20 years after ‘What we Leave Behind”.

I always assumed that Founders/Changelings could replicate internal organs. How would they pass through internal biometric scanners if they could not? Technological augmentation would allow Changelings to emit a false perception of internal organs, perhaps using something similar to thoron fields and duranium shadows? But we know that Changelings do not have technological components unless they can ‘mimic’ tech with their abilities such as how Odo creates a Bajoran comms badge. Though it is possible that the comms badge is ‘stored’ in Odo and is not actually a physical part of him, and using this logic perhaps Changelings can store and hide Boungelliki buckets in their bellies too?

Starfleet has oodles of sensors that work passively on a constant basis. They have tricorders, they have transporters. They have a million ways to determine what is actually "beneath the surface." If a changeling could only change their outer appearance, their deception would last less than five minutes.

You're right, but you know sensors will always be inconvenient if the plot dictates them to be. :D Admiral Quinn was infested with a parasite and was carrying another with him in "Conspiracy" yet it seemingly wasn't detected by the transporter's filtering systems. It was only differences in his personality that clued Picard in that he might have been compromised. And there's plenty of times when losing a comm badge meant practical invisibility, even though the ships can detect individual statistics at very long ranges. :rommie:

For myself, I enjoyed the episode but I kind of have mixed feelings on some things. Why was Ro's commander insignia sideways instead of on the collar? It did look a bit interesting but it seemed random. And if she had reason to think much of the Intrepid's crew was compromised (or at least key personnel), why beam most of the Titan's crew over there? Wouldn't that just potentially jeopardize them when they might be far more useful on the Titan?

It was nice to have Ro back as a guest star, but I kind of wish her story had been spread out across a few more episodes. It could have made some fun development. Also, I got the impression (and I might be wrong) that the Titan changeling was mainly posing as Jack, and wearing a Starfleet uniform to blend in (despite the real Jack having little interest in it), but Beverly didn't seem to notice the uniform at the end?

Correct. Odo’s face was his amateurish attempt to mimic his carer, Dr Mora Pol. When we met Dr Pol, he did have a similar hairstyle.

Come to think of it, shouldn't the reliants transporter biofilters have detected and eliminated the ceti eels in chekovs and terrells ears? Strange new worlds established the biofilters already existed in pikes time

I think that Dr Mora Pol also gave Odo his Boungelliki bucket, I doubt that it is standard Founder tech though it may have been adapted and standardized if the Founders wanted to copy his bucket as much as they wanted to copy his face?

not really: they are joined in the great link but even in there they don’t lose their individuality completely (see for example the others trying to hide things from odo), also the few changelings we’ve seen had different personalities.

Is Voltron 1 Robot or 5 lions?

The real question on my mind is...
Why did Ro hand Picard Kira Nerys's ear ring and not her own?

Things that make you go...hmmmm.

Another surprise appearance, perhaps?
Ro's original one wasn't a data chip

It's not legible on screen, but the Enterprise-D display made for Season 2 said it was recovered and put into the fleet museum.
Which had to happen before the neighbors invent telescopes :D

I just noticed we had a roundabout mention of The Doctor with the mobile emitter being recreated with "current" tech and seemingly being a well known thing.
The mobile emitter bugged me for a second before I thought about what it’s actually doing. All this is doing is projecting an image of Raffi just like holographic comms.

29th C Tech is what is needed for a much more complex sentient holo such as the Doctor.
I also first thought they shouldn't have future tech, but then it occurred to me that it's been a while since they got the mobile emitter, it was studied since they came home, and it was never stated when the thing was invented, only that they had it in the 29th century. So it could've been invented just a few years later :D

I wasn’t as keen on this one as the others, but I’m not entirely sure why. It was lovely to see Picards face when Worf popped up on the screen though. Nice moment.
It was just odd that he only looked at one of them while talking to both :D

As to a Vulcan Gangster, he is correct, the existence of deviants/people existing outside of established norms is a normal function of a working society or civilisation. It’s basic Sociology, though one that gets ignored quite often. He’s hardly the first, or even the second, Vulcan villain.
But do you need crime for utopia to exist? Can there only be utopia when you also have crime? That made no sense to me.

IDIC does not mean all members of a species should have the same motivations.
IDIC in fact would include everything, any type of criminal, any type of anything

We saw like 6 of them in season 2. It will only just be over 30 years old by this time.
At least 1 or 2 also accompany the F in the trailers.
