@Ometiklan, I'm fairly sure that Gen Rhys is now the first officer. He was in command whenever Burnham wasn't on the bridge.

Side note: Am I misremembering, or is Burnham the only one wearing a red Starfleet uniform? Most everybody else is wearing gold.

Book and Michael did not mess things up in an unprofessional manner, and frankly I seem to remember plenty of informal language on Kirk's part during meetings with aliens.
Informal is different than inappropriate or unprofessional. ;)

I am fine with the Kobayashi Maru conversation. However, it feels contrived when the circumstances which brought about its inception were artificially created. The escape vessel could have easily accommodated three additional people beyond its maximum, so only one trip was needed. However, the script writers needed to escalate the crisis, so without explanation, they created a situation where three people were left behind who had then to take the next trip, thus exposing the starship to more danger and creating a reason for the conversation.

It's hard to feel for characters when they feel like pawns in a story.

It's more obvious when it's compared to another story, like "Terra Firma" where the characters and the events were more natural and the characters felt like characters. Not once while watching that story did I feel that there were contrivances in the story.

I’m still confused how frozen fart gas was doing so much damage to the Discovery. This is supposed to be the 32nd century
It was stupid that's what it was...

Because we know from Lower Decks that even shields down that sort of thing should only be a threat to a starship if they remove their outer hull...

Good job spinning #3 as bad. On my planet, #3 on a Top 10 list is considered good. Whatever you think of the show -- I'm not a fan of it -- NCIS is a juggernaut, like it or not, and always has been.

Science-Fiction doesn't have the same draw as something that's not science-fiction. Everyone here knows this. You know it too. So I'd say DSC is doing pretty well in a situation like that.

As Locutus said, only TNG ever got the equivalent of NCIS type ratings. That's one of the reasons why we have Star Trek: Picard now, and not Star Trek: Sisko, Star Trek: Janeway, or Star Trek: Archer. So if you're going to level this against DSC, you might as well be levelling this against every Star Trek series that's not TNG.

Whenever people try to do this, it never works. Because you forget this also applies to Star Trek series you like and not just the ones you don't.
I wouldn't bother. All they post is negative things about Discovery. Not criticism, just pure negativity.

That's not how it works. The shields will work how ever the writers need them to. Why? The tech didn't tech because of tech.
Yea no, they don't get to do that without getting called out and mocked.

Scotty and Geordi were beamed THROUGH shields to save their lives at the end of "Relics(TNG)," so yeah, shields work according to needs of the storyline. ;)
You mean the 50 year old shields they knew the frequency of?
