It's like Law & Order, a great franchise but that ran for what felt like forever, and had many spin offs, some not so great. I was a fan of the original series but I didn't last till the very end I felt it had somehow run its course way before it officially ended.

BSG 2004 had 13/20/20/21 episodes a season. Not much filler in that series.

If they already have S4 for Discovery approved, they may be planning for the Federation storyline to continue into next season.

Still, I'd prefer more than 13, but maybe I'm in the minority.

A couple more episodes to slow the pace and explore the 32nd century a bit. High teens should do it 17 to 20 episodes

I am open to more episodes if they are relevant to the story. If it's just filler I'll be less forgiving.
What do you call relevant to the story though. I don't want any holodeck episodes or any of that trash but a few episodes that just show the general political situation in the 32nd century. Like the DS9 episodes about bajor or TNG involving Gowron

Some filler can be relevant to the show itself, like exploring lesser known characters, even as a B story.

Alternately, the DS9 Ferengi episodes didn't really do that, but I liked them. Not everybody did.

Personally, I wouldn't mind the next batch of Short Treks being dedicated to Burnham's gap year.

I want politics as it relates to rebuilding the Federation. Getting an info dump of all the different Federation member worlds, the Dominion, the Borg, and the like, if not relevant, should be left behind.

I can explore the 32nd century on my own.

Some, yes. Like I said, if it is relevant to the story then go for it.

I'm shooting for limited because that's just my view of current storytelling. I would have a full year's worth of Discovery if money and time were not object. But, that's not realistic so I'll adjust my expectations accordingly.

She is a lot like " we are doing everything by the Starfleet rules" And the next episode she ignores them. But I have to say that it is a long time that I have seen the show, and I watched It all in a short time. Have you seen everything of Voyager?
Almost, I'm about a third of the way through Season Seven.
Most if not all Star Trek characters are "by the book", except for the times they aren't. Kirk famously bent the rules, especially for his crew. A by the book Kirk would have locked Spock in the brig until his Pon Farr passed instead of defying Starfleet and detouring to Vulcan.

I tell you what, I’m going to hate the next new Star Trek show to be announced. I just decided right then. I want to see how much fun the ‘not my Trek, best Trek is Orville’ crew are having.
It does seem to be a good time.

Are we still on this? I'm more interested in talking about the actual episode itself, or I'll "Die Trying".

People who don't like the show and are still waiting to see if they'll like it: I've got news for you. If you don't like it by now, you're not EVER going to like it. That's just reality. I hate to break it to you all.

Well, I’m 47 seasons into the Kardashian show. I absolutely hate it but I’m confident that it’ll pick up some time soon. I’ve got faith of... Nope, I’m not going to say i... THE HEART.

Damn it. So close.

I got no sleep last night and I'm drunk. It's good stuff.

Disco > Other Trek

And, as Walter Cronkite would put it, "That's the way it is."
