Smallville renewed for Season 10

^
Agree 100%, espeically on Morris. The guy really deserves a main casting role.

I note you didn't even bat an eyelid at me wanting to get rid of the Orgasm Killer.

I laughed out loud when I saw that. But I don't see them getting rid of her unless they could convince Rosenbaum to come back full-time, and I don't see THAT happening, as happy as it would make me.

For what it's worth...
The Superman Homepage received word that Brian Doherty, who was just this month promoted to svp, national sales, at The CW has revealed that the execs at The CW are excited about a 10th season for "Smallville", wanting to really "go out with a bang".

The word is that they're attempting to close a deal with Michael Rosenbaum to return as Lex Luthor, wanting to sign him up for at least 9 or 10 episodes. Apparently an announcement will be made one way or the other very soon.

Yeah. The thing about Rosenbaum was posted in the TV & Media forum here a few days ago.

I hope they manage it. Lex HAS TO be there at the end.

Nielsen age demographics

Some middle-aged guy with no direction named The Blur is.

You consider 33 to be middle-aged?
In the television world the Nielsen ratings rule.

They have two age demographics that are very important.

In general, the number of viewers within the 18–49 age range is more important than the total number of viewers
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nielsen_ratings#Demographics

"Men aged 18-34? That's the prized demographic of most TV advertisers.
http://www.everyjoe.com/articles/online-video-taking-tvs-prized-demographic-184/

Over age 34 would really be middle aged.
I think that is 35-49. AARP officially allows members starting at age 50.
Actually a huge age demographics group is ages 50-75 and would be considered older than middle age.
I'm basing that on:
Current world average life expectancy 67.2 years

United States Male 75.6 years
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_expectancy

age demographics for TV

isnt the 50-75 demographic very set in there ways, and unlikely to make a change?
Actually yes they are very brand loyal.

It is very well known that the CBS network caters to that crowd mostly.
The cable channel TV Land owned by MTV Networks, a division of Viacom
The network now airs a combination of classic television shows, newer vintage shows, originals and movies. TV Land is trying to break more into the percentage of age 18-49 viewers by widening their programming but diluting their niche of 1950s-70s television shows in the process.

^I wasn't questioning her looks, I was questioning how poorly her character is written.

Aside from her "happy moment" when she stomped that guy to death, there's also the nonsensical way she runs the enormous company Lex put her in charge of. She inexplicably micromanages the Daily Planet and fires employees for the slightest mistake - or worse.

I think Tess has suffered the most in season 9...season 8 was great to build this new character and now...she gets knocked on her ass by Clark every 5 minutes...the whole Checkmate thing is good for her...however I do fear her character is doomed. I just wait for the moment...

Lex: Tess...Miss Mercer, you disappoint me...SNAP!!!

[edit] I really hope that Tess can finish out on top in all this...not holding my breath though. :(

Really don't understand why people have a problem with the happy moment as you are calling it. That's actually a type of pleasure and release of emotion one would expect from someone a bit "off" than normal people and are killers.

Woah..going for the 10th season allready:eek:
I watched the show for about the first four seasons, and then for a reason I dont recall I stopped watching it:alienblush: It wasnt that I didint like it, though:)
I noticed that theres a dvd box of seasons 1-8 out there.
To those who have seen the later seasons..is it worth picking up?:shifty:

they should really get Perry into the Daily Planet

It would be an interesting choice actually, Perry was at one point searching for aliens stories, is someone who Tess could use at the Planet.

Let's hope they take a risk and kill off LOIS! I'd love to see that!

Seriously, the survival of this show just puzzles me. The fact that I keep watching it puzzles me even more.
