Season 10 should absolutely be the last one. Over the years, Smallville may have satisfied too much of the demand for Superman, and this may have hurt Superman Returns a bit. I can't prove it though.
After Smallville ends in May 2011, there will be an interval before the next live-action incarnation of Superman. Maybe the waiting period will serve to rebuild some interest in him.

Here's hoping for a Clark, Lois, Chloe, Oliver, Perry White, and Lex Luthor cast next Season. But maybe that's hoping to much.

I have a feeling Smallville isn't going to die a quick, sudden death. I think if this were the last season they would try to promote it as the last season, but so far they aren't. Of course, they just announced its renewal, so it is possible we have some time before they start ramping up the advertising, but I have a sneaking suspicion that after this season either more cast members will vacate the show, replaced by other more prominent members, or the show will be dramatically retooled after this season.
Ditto that. If Ally returns, I'll keep right on watching. Without her, it's hard to say.

Actually...Thats not to bad an idea. I mean they wont give us fracking Superman anyways. And I do think this lame watered down superboy is satisfying the need for Superman (without actually giving it us) so it does end up hurting any Superman movie we might get...

What hurt Superman Returns wasn't too much Superman in Smallville, because Superman isn't in Smallville. Some middle-aged guy with no direction named The Blur is. What hurt Superman Returns was that they completely immasculated the character and made him a morose Lois-whipped wuss.

uhh we're talking about Tess right? Yeah she looks like the type that could stab you in the junk with a short katana ala Gogo Yubari from Kill Bill vol. 1.
I hope Mack returns, but I find Durance more integral to the story. We've already had to 'survive' Lex's disappearance. Lois disappearing when she's already been on the show for a while would make no sense.

Specifically, I'm talking about the scene in "Power" where she stomps a guy to death. The look on her face is clearly Cassidy Freeman's sex face. She looks like she just came.
