RIP Patrick Stewart

This really hurts. :(

One cannot understate the incredible contributions Patrick Stewart made to theater, cinema, and television that crossed a multitude of genres. I could go on an endless list but I think everyone here knows most of them (although I will make a special shoutout to one of the best historical fictions, I, Claudius).

Like most people in my generation (no pun intended), my introduction to Sir Pat was Star Trek. He was TNG for me (well, after LeVar) thanks to Picard's strong leadership and moral compass that guided that remarkable show. Taken as a whole, including the films and Picard, the body of work he helped produce was magnificent and I'm eternally grateful for it.

I've pondered for awhile about doing a TNG marathon and now feels like the perfect time to make it so.

R.I.P. Patrick Stewart
It really is sad and shocking news. This will take more than just a moment to process, that is for sure. My deepest condolences to his family and all his friends
The Next Generation was my first Star Trek show, and I have always considered Captain Picard to be one of my personal (fictional) heroes.

😢 This was a another blow for out heroes in just 3 days. I know hes seemed a little frail for a while but I truly thought he had some years left. We'll all have his work to inspire and comfort us for all time. R.I.P. Captain. Thank you.

Someone once told me that time is a predator that stalks us all our lives, but I rather believe that time is a companion who goes with us on the journey, reminds us to cherish every moment, because they'll never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we lived.

What a tragic loss. I grew up watching TNG and Picard's morals in TNG were something that shaped me to some degree. Especially in the "Tapestry" and "Inner Light" episodes. He lived to be 86 and lived a long, successful career.

I'll remember this day for the rest of my life...
