RIP Patrick Stewart

This might be a bit too soap box for the moment, but I think Patrick Stewart did a service to the world showing what it means to be an active man, playing a hero, at his age and in his condition. I hope the people who complained about Star Trek Picard will reflect on his contribution and their own prejudices.

Rest in peace.

He must have been diagnosed during the late spring. Lewy is fast moving. He did a sonnet reading on X in early April and was terrific. He must have been hit with it a month or so later .. 😢

RIP Sir Patrick Stewart.

"Someone once told me that time was a predator that stalked us all our lives. But I rather believe that time is a companion who goes with us on the journey, and reminds us to cherish every moment because they'll never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we lived."

He did a final x posting with one of his sonnets in April.

Verily he played a man facing a devastating illness, trying to prove his worth to the universe.

Bill Shatner posted a tribute to Patrick on his social media (they worked together on Generations).

What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work.My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.

What?! No! I don’t even know what to say, what a shock. As others have been saying, he’s literally one of my childhood heroes. This almost doesn’t feel real. :(
