Was TOS full-scale shuttlecraft prop helpful for enhancing the believability of the future "world" of Enterprise and Starfleet?

Only appearing in several episodes, it should have been used in many more episodes since it was built.

In the difficult questions for devil in the dark -- 1 remaining is unique in the entire series. The other I've found is also in common with two other first season episodes.

All good guesses and interesting observations but not exactly what I was looking for. The one is so obvious that you all know it but it just hasn't hit you in the face. And the other is kind of odd. I'll give a hint on the other one
Devil in the dark is tied with where no man has gone before and what are little girls made of as far as being unique to the first season.
