I'd love to see tsq try her hand at writing a graphic novel or some such thing. I think she could do rather well at it!

I'm LOVING the new job.Congratulations on the new job TSQ! I love your drawing as well. I hope my hubby takes a page out of your book and starts to paint/draw again when this transition period we are in is over.
Enjoy the new job!
I've posted a few over the years, and paintings too.Wow, terrific b&w artwork TSQ! I'm impressed to say the very least...you're pretty talented! I'd love to see other drawings you've done if you still have and feel like sharing them!
I've often thought of it, and even have the idea for a story. The traditional novel came out first, though.I'd love to see tsq try her hand at writing a graphic novel or some such thing. I think she could do rather well at it!![]()

The traditional novel came out first, though.
A slightly belated congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Flux! I love your cake.
TSQ, congratulations on your new job, and your drawing is awesome. I'm always envious of people who can draw. I can't do proportional stick people.
After and exceptionally dry winter we've had the wettest April since 1910. This was the River Exe, on the outskirts of the city of Exeter in southwest England, this afternoon.

At first glance it may not look that bad, but do you see the concrete ledge on either side of the river? Below those ledges are 3 or 4 deep steps and, below that, a pedestrian and cycle path which is hardly ever flooded. In the 6 years we've lived here I've never seen the river so high. The surrounding area is safe from flooding, though. After the last bad flood in 1960 those embankments you can see were made, and the river's never yet come close to the top of them. Just to the left of the photo is a pub which has been there for generations. It was badly flooded in 1960, and by the bar is a wonderful photo of an elderly lady crossing the flooded street on a wooden plank to get to the door of the pub. No gushing torrent was going to stand between her and her G&T!
Here's a recent photo of me, taken on a talus slope in Gaspe.

Hey, thanks for posting! I haven't had the chance to go and look at the river, but everyone's saying it's the highest they've ever seen (apart from the old timers who remember the flood!)

Thankfully we didn't get the rain today that had been predicted, and when I drove over the Exe Bridges this evening the top two steps were exposed, so the river has dropped slightly. It's still moving at an angry pace, though.
I'm assuming you live on the other side of the city from me, as I have to cross the river to get into town and therefore see it almost daily.
