In Memoriam: Mr. Laser Beam

This feels very awkward. I came back after all these years to see what was being said about Mr. Laser Beam, and I can't find anything. So I guess it's up to me to let you know.

I was shocked to learn a few days ago that he died back on April 14. I don't know any details. We often went months without communicating, but last week he didn't respond to two texts in a row, which seemed odd, so I did a search and unfortunately found the obituary. Nothing in it other than funeral info and family names.

Mr. Laser Beam was the only member I've met IRL. We got together a couple times when he came to Baltimore to see the Orioles play. I remember him as a very kind person, quietly passionate about MLB, Trek, and public transportation. He spoke several times over the years about what great, caring people we'd met here.

So, a thread in his memory...

He was a valuable member that will be missed. I know that he was fond of Canada and loved to go to Toronto for the baseball games. Sad to hear he passed. He was always a joy to converse with in the threads.

Such sad news. He will certainly be (and has been) missed.

He was always such a prolific poster here, so I was concerned when he didn’t seem to be showing up anymore. But I just assumed that something had come up that kept his attention elsewhere. I didn’t expect this to be the reason.

He was taken much too young. My sympathies to all his family and loved ones.
