PICTURE POST!

I'm shocked there's no security contingent, and that you were able to be that close to him - or is the security contingent just not in frame?
Sorry I'm only seeing this now!
He had a minimum of staff with him and just about two or three bodyguards, all of them very elegant I might add. And I have a camera with a very good zoom, for that matter. ;)

But yes, I was surprised I was allowed to get close enough to see the white of his eyes. :shifty:

better be careful Me-Ike..the dirty old man behind you is checking you out!

BTW nice pictures, I've been to that museum, but it was LONG ago..back when the Iron Lady was P.M....

Yeah, he kept pushing into the picture. :shifty:

Thank you! The Nat Museum is always worth checking out, especially if you haven't been in a while.

boco, that's some serious snow. Not for where I live, mind you, but Rome? Wow.

Me-Ike, don't ya just hate it when that happens? :D

I love the photo of the Trevi Fountain. Do you have any others of landmarks in Rome, boco?

There's nothing like a cute girl in Spock ears or a Slave Leia costume to get the blood going. The more a woman is in touch with her more playful and whimsical side the more attractive she usually is as a human being.

I know someone you would just love - unfortunately for you, she's happily married. :p

The first hardcore Doctor Who I ever knew was a woman. She was also into Blakes 7. (Jokingly called The daughter Servalan never had ;) ) In addition to being a fan she was heavily into con organizing and even chaired one once.

Her name isn't Robbie, by any chance? Or Farah? (Not that I need to provide more ammunition to the "Lance knows everyone" rumour-mongers... I just happen to know two women, both of whom have run conventions, who are movers and shakers in British SF fandom, though Robbie is better known for chairing Gallifrey One in Los Angeles.)

Ah, a real paparazzo. :p

Nobody worries about someone getting to Charles... now, William, OTOH... ;)

Yep. (*Sigh*) Sounds like my luck. I've been fortunate enough to have enjoyed the romantic company of a couple of young ladies who had a moderate appreciation for things geeky, but they were never able to immerse themselves in some of the things I like. If they were into STAR TREK it was one of the newer shows and not classic TOS. Or they'd seen the original STAR WARS movies but none of the prequels. I think the most divisive difference along those lines came when I discovered that the first of the two girls wouldn't watch TOS because she thought it was stupid, poorly acted and had awful special effects. She treated the original show like a redheaded stepchild kept chained up in a basement. She also told me she thought James T. Kirk was a sexist pig for the way his character scored with the ladies.

Yet one more reason I've aged faster than my years.

James T. Kirk is probably the only person I will ever say this about.. he IS a sexist pig and he is also extremely hot.

Since this is a picture thread I submit this picture:

The Best Looking Man Ever

I know this probably goes without saying, but you don't need someone to match your tastes that much. You just need to be open to each other's interests and if you really don't share them, let the other person enjoy them in peace.

Yes. I know. And at my age and after all these years I've become more and more aware of that. I'm open minded about a partner's hobbies, likes and dislikes. Most of the time. I suffer from obsessive-compulsive disorder, though, so there's a part of me that desires my partner to have many of the same interests I do so it will be less for me to have to worry about coping with and adjusting to. The more we have in common the less fidgety and nitpicky and the more serene and comfortable I'll be. It's just my nature because of my condition, which can be somewhat difficult for some women and I completely understand why.

Relationships aren't easy, but if you can find the right partner they're worth every bit of trouble. I think someone famous once said that. Forget who it was, but they were right.

Me too! :techman:

I have a couple like that from when my daughter was little having a dual with a late friend. I'll have to see if I can dig them up.

Found em. This is my little girl (almost 15 years ago) having it out with my late best friend.

RIP J.K.

^ Two very nice pictures of your friend. My condolences.

Naw, it's okay. I retained all my life energy and got to stay in 2011. What more could you ask of a statue?

You should've turned around and called him a dodo head.

Heh. :D
Wasn't there even a Dodo (stuffed, of course) in the Natural History Museum once? Until it got chucked out? I faintly remember something like that.
