It always surprises me how much of a difference a little bit of facial hair makes visually.... you almost look like two completely different people in those pictures!

It kind of looks like she's wearing a TOS-style command tunic doesn't she? She bears a resemblance to some of the female Enterprise officers from the late '60s. Cute.

Indeed. You should have seen me when my beard was longer. We're talking mountain man territory.
How did you tolerate it? I can't stand having a beard, scruff is worse.
I actually prefer having a thick beard. Being clean-shaven itches too much for me, which is why I do it so rarely.
I'm finally doing a successful beard for the first time myself.... it took me 6 or 7 tries before it didn't bother me anymore. I've always done the goatee, but for the longest timemy face would always itch when the hair on my cheeks got to a certainly length and I would always cut it off.
My goatee itched like a sumbitch when I first grew it in but now it's been there for so long that (as I found out when I shaved it off awhile back) it's left a permanent beard-shaped scar on my face. So now I have to leave it there! Fortunately I like my beardy look. 
(I wouldn't have grown it in the first place if I hadn't gone bald. Have to complete the look!)

Thanks J. I hope the neighbors like them and don't think I'm a nut. I would've made eggnog and brought it to them, but a lot of people don't like it at all. Too bad!

If they're decent folk, they'll appreciate your consideration.
On a similar note, I love eggnog. I can only drink the sugar free variety, but it's still good. I'm hoping to attempt my own recipe this week.
I keep my beard short and well-groomed, but I haven't been clean shaved since I was 19, almost 15 years ago. I don't remember how my chin feels any more.

Baked some mini-cupcakes tonight. I thought I'd take them to our neighbors tomorrow since we haven't really met any of them yet. I might also bring a plate by the leasing office. Sorry the quality hasn't turned out well!

Well, that settles it - I have to grow the beard back now.

Took this one with my iPhone yesterday. My daughter loves books, even ones without any pictures. She likes to pick them up and flip through the pages and she is remarkably careful with them. Here she's sitting in front of one of my bookcases on an upturned basket she brought into my room earlier in the day.
