Official TrekBBS Fantasy Baseball League!

Well, three weeks in and my keeper league team is really struggling. Between a lack of closers, underachieving keepers (Lance Berkman has been particularily cold) and stupid benchings on my part, my team is headed in the wrong direction. Not sure how to right things either.

At least my team in the ESPN yearly league has been doing well. And the team I put together in a Yahoo league (which I joined only for the added info) has shown signs of promise. If only I could move a few of my 6 closers in that league over to the keeper league.

Even though it was very close between me and coaster, I'm glad I was able to pull it out. For once I have a sunday that is great and not par for the course of the typical "do great during the week, and then suck on the weekend, especially Sunday when it's the most important" script. So the first three weeks are a tie, loss, and win. That's so much better than last year.

I am very happy with my start in the keeper league with the #1 overall record. I just hope I can keep the same pace going for the season. Have some confidence that I can since have some great hitters. Beltran has been been great for me since over the last week has had over a .500 batting average.

Don't go getting Championship t-shirts printed just yet, Sportzkid. I plan on stomping you sooner or later. Just remember that you've run up a small advantage, but you've only played against the kiddie division so far ;)

So, Sportzkid, you've started your slide, and the 3-week Champion has been dethroned! :p

I'd have beaten you 9-1 this week, btw :)

One more week until I get a big shot in the arm (as long as I don't ask what's in it, I'm not juicing!) and ARod comes back, too. More and more "DL" and "DTD" symbols disappearing from my team, so it's go time!

^ Ya I hit you pretty hard tomalak301 in the yearly league, we all have our down weeks. Good luck with this week.

I sure hope so. I'm hoping that last week was just a pure coincidence and it could have happened to anyone, including Scout. This is the first week of May. There is a long way to go, and I'm not desperate for a win anymore like last year.

Boy, do my relief pitchers in the keeper league suck. It's been so bad that I'm actually happy that I played a relief pitcher (Jason Frasor) who had a 21.00 ERA instead of the one (Julian Tavaras) who had an 81.00 ERA. I'm thinking I should just give up on trying to find a player that might give me an occasional save and just concentrate on the other categories.

Counting on Tavarez for ANYTHING is a mistake. He's a long-guy, at best. If they're hurting you that much, and you don't have "actual" closers anyway, quit the category and try to bolster the other ones. And then just try to be quick to the waiver wire when another closer is losing his job, and snag his replacement...

Yeah, maybe I should just look for some decent middle relievers that might help with the ERA and strikeouts. Too bad we don't still have that hold category.

yeah, I always enjoyed the Hold stat, as it added another facet to the game, but just went to the straight 5x5 setup when moving to ESPN. Can add it back in, but this seems simpler.

A-Rod is back tonight to replace the statistical monster that was Casey Blake, so it's all over now, ladies!

In the battle of the basement teams in the ESPN keeper league's NL, Deus Ex Machina and I ended up tying 4-4-2. I was so hoping to snag my first victory of the season. Maybe this week- we start interdivisional play and I hear the AL is a far weaker division. :)

Things are still looking pretty good in the yearly ESPN league (and my Yahoo league), but quite a few of my players are getting a bit gimpy. Makes it a little tough when they're injured enough not to play but not so badly that they need a trip to the DL.

My yearly league seems to be in a bit of a slump. Either that or the AL is the tougher division in that league.

Anyone looking for a 1B in either the keeper or the yearly league?

In the yearly league, I'm still willing to part with Lance Berkman or Adrian Gonzalez for a good OF or 2B.

In the keeper league, I'm willing to part with Lance Berkman for a good closer.

Yup. Berkman's too valuable to dump, but apparently his trade value isn't what it used to be.

Looks like I'll have to hope he turns things around, because I don't have room on my roster to just leave him floundering on my bench (especially in the yearly league, where I already have Manny Ramirez wasting a spot).
