Official TrekBBS Fantasy Baseball League!

Well, at least your team had good pitching to help you pull off the tie. That's something I can't count on, so I have to hope the Amish Assassins' bats go quiet. That's about the only chance I have against him this week.

True. I'm hoping Halladay isn't down for too long, or else any outside chance I had at winning anything is gone...

Talk about having to take on two heavy hitters at once! I just realized that in addition to facing coaster in the keeper league this week, I'm up against Scout in the yearly league (matchup between the two division leaders).

Something I wonder about Fantasy is the whole idea of Karma and biting you in the ass. The guy I'm playing this week had Alexi Rameriz and, well, that guy has had an awesome week. I feel like I've been doing well but I don't think a good sunday will even bring me back.

How does ESPN calculate the standings? I'm still kinda confused, as it says I'm in 4th at the moment, but compared to the guy in 3rd, I've won more, lost less, and tied less. Seems like that should equate to 3rd, but maybe i'm missing something, or the win percentage works out to fractions of a point different?

Either way, it should give more credence to the "reorganize the divisions next year" plan, as (as usual) the NL division has the top 3 records in the league at the moment, and if the playoffs started tomorrow, the AL would only be involved by default... :guffaw:

ESPN goes by winning percentage, which puts you in 4th overall (.582).

Kind off strange how there's such a big discrepency between the two divisions. In the National League, everybody's at .500 or better, but in the American League, only one team is above .500. If I was in the other division, I'd be in 2nd instead of being the division's basement dweller.

As expected, I got slaughtered in the yearly league. Thanks to my pitching, at least I was able to pull off a tie against coaster in the keeper league, though.

As mentioned, the standings are by percentage (after the top two spots for each division leader).

Yeah, it would be nice to have a division race in the AL. The schedule is already completely balanced, so that won't change, but there might be two races with battles. As for playoff stuff, since it's the top six teams involved regardless of division. No AL team has made it in without being one of the top six overall records. At least one AL team has to make it in by winning the division, but the AL division winner/leader has been one of the better teams each year any way. My idea of shaking up the divisions was partly to see if we can get another tightly contested division, and partly to shake up who your "divisional rivals" are a bit. Who is making the playoffs and who you're playing on the schedule won't change at all based on the divisional shake-up.

Not related to fantasy baseball much, but long time no see there coaster! You should show your face around these parts more often.

I really liked what happened in the Yearly league this week. I expected to lose big, but this goes a good way into getting a 6th spot or higher. I know it's still early, so it's best to not get too excited, but a good win is a good win.

Another week, another tie in the keeper league. The last time I didn't tie was week 9 (June 1-7). Won't have much of a chance to dethrone the Scout/Coaster/McCosh dynasty at this rate.

And another tie in the keeper league. Five weeks in a row going 5-5-0. But since I'm playing Scout this week, I'd be happy to make it 6 weeks in a row.

In the yearly league, I'm willing to trade Dustin Pedroia or Brian Roberts for a closer and maybe someone else. Anyone want to bite and talk trade offers?

I have an extra closer- I could trade you Brian Wilson (who I believe you dropped earlier this year), Scott Downs or maybe Fernando Rodney. But as far as the "maybe someone else", I don't have a lot to offer.
