Major League Baseball 2009

I'm not so sure the Yankees roll against either team in the ALDS. With the way the Twins are playing as a team right now, they'll have a real shot against the Yankees. And with Detroit's starting rotation of Verlander, Jackson, and Porcello (at home), the Yankees could find themselves in more trouble than they think. Especially in a short series.

The Braves are the hot team right now. I get the impression that, if they make the playoffs, they'll go far. But it'll be tight either way.

Well, despite Buchholz's joke of a pitching performance tonight, the Sox look like they may clinch a playoff spot by default, as the Angels are beating the Rangers in the 8th right now.

And the Sox are in!

Now just fucking rest everyone, and let the playoffs begin!
Well, a few more wins couldn't hurt morale...it'd also help test out Beckett and Lester and make sure the rest of the staff doesn't get rusty.

So, three-game sweep of the Angels as usual? ;)

How I hope...

But I don't want to even think of discrediting the Angels though. They are a good team, and always give a good fight, despite the outcomes. Lets see what happens.

Ah... I second that one. The Twins have a good team.

Interesting... since they (the Tigers) lost to them earlier this year. Hopefully you're right about it. Since the Yankees are such a pain in the ass to play.

And I'm tired of them... winning.

Holy moly. I guess Tim Wakefield is phoning it in tonight too. Doesn't look like he'll make the postseason roster, unless he's put in the bullpen.

And now Tito's using the B-team. Freebie for the Jays.

Haha, well the Sox game tonight was hilarious...Halladay vs. the Sox AAAA lineup, Dusty Brown pitching, etc. I love watching meaningless games.

That was the most anti-climactic clinching of the playoffs ever. I was eagerly watching with baited breath to see the last out and the Phillies win when the Braves lost and the out suddenly became completely meaningless.

Barring the Braves somehow winning the Wild Card (highly unlikely at this point), or some weird collapse by the Dodgers combined with a massive winning streak by the Cardinals (even less likely) the Phillies will play the Rockies (Dodgers can't play them). Not a match-up I particularly want, but I can live with it.

Nah, I think the Red Sox the other night pulled off the most anti climatic clinch ever...

Still, the Phillies one was pretty good...

I was just looking at the standings and the remaining schedule and the Dodgers have a 3 game lead over the Rockies with the Rockies coming to LA this weekend. Could this really happen, the monumental collapse of the Dodgers. I hope we get a wrap around 4 games series because that might make for some exciting baseball this weekend. Unless the Dodgers have the tiebreaker and then all this is mute, but I found that rather interesting.

The Dodgers have owned the Rockies at home this season, I would look for a quick clean end to this one....

Sad to see the Giants season officially over( it's been done for a couple weeks in reality). Lots of pluses this season, but easily half the positions players should be replaced. Another interesting and long off season.
