Major League Baseball 2009

Big win by the Tigers today. I was not confident in Robertson at all, but he gets the win. The AL Central lead is at 3 games. Thats down from 5, but better than being swept. Hooray for the most exciting division race in baseball.

That hurt. I was rooting for the Lions, though.

Baseball or football: Every game I watched went ass-backwards of what I wanted.

Yeah, as a Twins fan today's game must not have been a lot of fun. At least one of our two teams is winning the division. The evil White Sox are all but out of the race...

And you did have that monster fantasy game today. ;)

Just read that. They were a 500 team until around mid-September. It seems a little odd to can the manager with 2 weeks left, unless they want to get a feel for his possible replacement before looking around in the offseason. If I recall, they weren't expected to do much this year anyway.

Wow. That's a great deal if they've changed it to that.

What do you mean, changed? Linky

Bloody hell. I browsed some more in the MLB.com forums. I had been led to believe that the $19.95 (or whatever) was for the entire year. That is a very misleading page that I just linked to.

Well, not the bullpen performance I was hoping for from the Red Sox so far tonight. Fortunately the Royals pitching ain't that great either.

EDIT: Okay, now that bullpen performance is getting downright crappy.

Manny Delcarmen should burn in a fucking fire...:brickwall::scream:

Just saying....

^ Yeah, but it would've been nice to lower that wild-card magic number.

Still a bit of game left, though.

Ya. While it was kind of a meaningless game...its still annoying...especially with the matchup tomorrow not favoring the Sox at ALL.

Boy... all those times the Braves lost to the Padres, Nationals, Pirates, and Reds is really going to bite them in the ass. That and Bobby leaving in closers who give up 4+ runs.

They had better win at least 10 of their last 12 games if they want a shot. 7 of those are against the Nats so I think it's possible.

Kansas City is catching a lot of teams by surprise right now. The Royals have been on a tear since the start of September, catching a lot of teams off-guard who were fooled by the "Royals" moniker. They're playing well.

^ To be fair, that win was more the incompetence of Sox relief pitching than anything else. The bullpen was just awful.

Their website sucks.

Tell me about it.

That page I linked to, strongly implies that it's a flat fee of $19.95 per year, that's it. But from reading the forums, it seems that it's $19.95 times (however many months in a season). That's outright misleading, IMHO.

It's the end of the season, so they don't have the full structure up right now. THink it's just $20 for the rest of the year. Wanna say something like $79 for the year, if you buy at the start of next season. Works decently well, if you're not in an area that is deemed 'blacked out' of a local market. I.E. if you aren't trying to follow the local team with it you're golden.

Which is a dumb rule, and pisses me off (but it's a MLB thing, not the TV over PC's fault). I get this package as part of the Red Sox Nation member level I'm at (I do it to get Monster seats every year), but I can't use it to watch Red Sox games. Which is all well and good, watch the games on TV, right?

Wrong.

Only time you'd WANT to watch it over the PC is if you CAN'T watch over the TV. At work, on vacation somewhere, etc. Still blacked out, pretty annoying.

Great for out of town fans, though. I guess it would work for me if I wanted to watch them the next day (not live), but that doesn't do it for me,a nd i'd rather read the box score than watch yesterday's game...
