Major League Baseball 2009

There was a lot of buzz about this. I heard a lot of people saying "Honey, comb look at this!" They'd just drone on and on about it. Hive not heard anything like this since that one time at Dolphin Stadium with the bee guy.

The Phillies came through with a big win over the Mets earlier today. That win, coupled with a loss by the Fish puts the Phillies back on top of the NL East.

The Tigers are still playing right now, in the top of the 14th. Hopefully they can pull this out after blowing a big lead.

Giants offense came alive tonight. What a win, and what a ML debut for this Sandowski kid.

I'm going to the game tomorrow. Fourth of July, Birthday weekend, and I get to see one of the best pitchers in the game (Maybe the best) take the mound. Looking forward to that.

I actually stayed up and watched the game all the way until the end. I assume you did too? It did go on forever. Detroit was about to go into it's starting rotation for pitchers since their bullpen was exhausted.

Yeah, I watched the whole ugly mess. I was kind of hoping it would go on a bit longer just to see who they'd send in to pitch next. I guess both teams better hope they get a lot of innings out of their starting pitchers today.

^Yeah, it's always fun when teams empty their bullpens and have to look elsewhere for pitchers. I remember a game Seattle played last year when they put in a first basemen to pitch because he had done some pitching in college.

FOX is pissing me off by showing all of Ramirez's at-bats. I've heard enough about that man to last a lifetime and do not need to see him when I'm watching my game. Ugh.

I hated the fact that the whole Fox rule was there even for Independence Day today that I went to the game to watch the Giants and Tim Lincecum. Never had to hear anything about that guy at all and it was great. Beautiful day as well.

My poor Royals. SEVEN STRAIGHT loosing seasons. And once again they started out fine and dandy only to collapse midway through. And I don't count 2002. That was like only one more win then loss. A complete fluke. So it's more like 10. The new owner has promised they'll get their act together, but I'll wait and see.

A a friend of mine said that KC fans are just fickle. NO WE ARE NOT. We just are tired of loosing. All these Cubs fans infuriate me. You can't win a World Series or Pennant, I get that. But you can at least have a winning season. We can't even have that. I don't want a World Series. Screw the World Series. I just want one winning season.

^ I sympathize. I was at the K last month to see the renovations. A beautiful ballpark they've got now, but I would have preferred to see the Royals win (even though I'm not much of a fan of theirs). At the very least I wanted to see Greinke do some decent pitching...

With all that money spent on renovations they could have spent that amount on decent players. Their pitching is the worst I've ever seen. This from the same franchise that gave us Cone and Saberhaggen. Their hitting is almost as bad. Billy Butler is the DH. His job is to do nothing but hit the fucking ball. And he can't even do that.

Granted, they just found a new owner. Which they didn't have for almost a decade. Another problem is that they just can't seem to hold on to quality players. They have one of the best farm systems around, bar none. But they either can't or won't fork over the cash to keep their breakout players. I've lost count of the amount of great players we've lost to The Yankee's or The Red Sox. No offense, but it feels like The Royals are Boston and NY's unofficial Triple A farm club.

Nice to see the Red Sox remember how to win again, though I was most happy to have Tim Wakefield get a spot on the All Star team. :)
