Spoilers Main Title Sequence

Well, this is a streaming series in most of the world, so reruns won't be an issues for the vast majority of people.
Re-streams? Repeat viewings? I'm fairly sure some fans will watch it more than once...

Not liking this right now. It appears kinda rushed, like someone made a quick sketch for a storybord.

After all this is a space show, why is there no space?
Rushed......no. This took weeks to render if not more.

I have seen it twice. It is not as bad as the Enterprise opening; however, it is not as exciting as others. The theme music is bland, with a flourish at the end.

Hm... ok.
That was pretty much my reaction too. I liked the addition of Klingon elements, but overall it didn't really grab me.

Admittedly that's from watching it out of context (and I wasn't wowed over with the music either), but that doesn't mean I'm still not feeling positive about the show itself.

Perhaps the flower is actually part of Lt. Staments fungus project?
Surely it's got to be there for a specific reason, other than "oh look, it's an *alien* plant"? Although as long as it's got nothing to do with ENT's "this is why Klingons have smooth/bumpy foreheads" pants, I'm all good.

My gut reaction is that it is terrible. Whilst artistic in its own right, it feels like the focus is on production values, props, rather than the story or characters. "Let's flash a load of things to make trekkies happy". The aesthetic is design and production, and as such feels "unfinished". The music feels like it is missing something, maybe its a lack of melody, or purpose.

I would take Enterprise season 1 and 2 openings over this - but maybe in time it will grow on me, and maybe the aesthetic approach is intertwined with the plot, but i'm not hopeful...

I'm not sure if the “flower” isn't merely a symbol for alien life. Note that it has some kind of tentacle that almost seems to grab for the Discovery. I don't think it will necessarily be part of the show proper.

I just realised the bridge module of the Discovery is a proper sphere, like the Deadalus! I love this ship, they knocked it out of the park.

It's like a Sherlock Holmes show theme? Midsummer Murders? I kind of like it, and it would be cool if they changed the graphic in the title sequence to reflect each individual story?
