Opening Title Sequence Season 5 Question

Okay I'm having a discussion with a gentleman on Quora.com
IT'S about the Season 5 Opening Title Sequence. Where the titles get a pseudo 3-D effect by adding blue streamers to the letters and they stretch away from the viewer to infinity.
He made comment about how they did it "for just a few episodes" and I countered WITH that they ALL have the same opening. He further elaborated that I need to look at my original recordings and I will find that they only did for Unification Parts 1 & 2 and then when they released them to Blu Ray that they added the effects to ALL the episodes. My quandary is I no longer have access to my original recordings (very nice S-VHS home edited tapes 2 episode per tape setup) to verify the veracity of his claim since I seem to remember that effect showing up on the very 1st episode of the 5th season "Redemption Part 2" which I watched via Paramount+ subscription which is supposed to be the original material (except for the remastered TOS episodes). So the question is:
Were the Opening Title Sequence Season 5 ALL the same from the beginning OR is his memory correct about it only being for Unification Parts 1 & 2 then they were ALL changed for the Blu Ray release? The web seems to support BOTH of are assertions so HELP. I don't mind if I am wrong or right just want it answered definitely.

Thank you!

I'm pretty sure the trails were there for the whole season when it first aired and I just checked a DVD to confirm that they were not limited to Unification for that release.

It was the whole fifth season. And it looked a little naff which is probably why they ditched it come the sixth.

It was for the whole season. Done (presumably) because it was the anniversary.

Not sure why, it's easily proven that it was not a Blu-ray change. The DVDs also have the new logo on the entire season.
Thank you, but this gentleman swears up and down they only did for Unification Parts 1 and 2 at the beginning and changed it later when they put it on Blu Ray release. So I will just shrug my virtual shoulders and put it down as "We're just going to have to agree to disagree" since I don't have access to TRULY original recordings of those episodes. I appreciate you taking the time to answer my query!
