Mine too. Visually. The Enterprise title sequence is one of my favorites visually.
Though for me, my absolutely favorite is second season TOS (original VFX, original soundtrack).
My initial reaction to the Michelangelo:I find the Michelangelo reference at the end cringeworthy.
The reference to The Creation of Adam clashes with the idea that people are atheists in the future. TOS made it clear that not everyone's an atheist, and both TOS and TOS films (and TAS for that matter) were willing to explore religious themes, and they made numerous religious references. But it's pretty clear that the so-called Berman-era shows approached religion markedly differently. Right out of the gate, TNG was critical of religion in "Encounter at Farpoint" (not just because it led to murder, but also because the characterization of "tribal god-images" is intrinsically derogatory). So, is this a sign that DSC will hew closer to TOS in its treatment of religion?
On the other hand (ha!), this isn't a representation of one being creating another, but rather of two co-equal beings reaching for each other. The reference to Michelangelo is clear, but the fact that the hands are co-equal makes it stand in contrast, hewing towards Escher's Drawing Hands. There could be many possible explanations for this, but assuming that the artists know what they are doing, it could be intentionally implying cooperation between different beings to realize their own destiny. Note that one hand is red and the other is blue. @CorporalClegg has already noted the possibility that blue will symbolize the Federation and red will symbolize the Klingons. So, taking all that and running with it, this could symbolize a truce between the Federation and Klingons.
Or it could be something else entirely....
