Little things in Trek that just bug you...

On the other hand, Gates McFadden might have just been told by the director not to do anything which might muss up her hair.
And Marina Sirtis was told not to run, because the producers wanted the audience to concentrate on the dialog and story, and not be distracted by all the bouncing.

This shot is from “The Corbomite Maneuver”, where you can see that one set opens before the other.

There have been other posts on this topic, too.

The notion that every ship in Starfleet is 90% officers. All officers go to Starfleet Academy, and every ship, no matter how small, is commanded by someone with the rank of Captain. Starfleet has hundreds of ships, and yet to get into Starfleet Academy you have to participate in one of several annual 4-person competitions with only one winner. None of it makes any sense!

I miss the feel of the early TNG episodes where they acted more like a real crew onboard a real (star)ship.
Personally, I really enjoyed the feel from the first couple of seasons in TNG. I don't mind everything after that, just feels like something they strayed or veered away from.

There was a second cube. On the grassy knoll.

The turbo lift doors always bugged me, how there was only one set. Was it on the lift car or on the lift shaft? Either way, there should be two sets of doors!

Actually I believe that episodes varied in whether the turbolifts showed one or two sets of doors. There is a tread about it in fact.

If you are thinking that everyone has to go through a competition like in "Coming of Age" I think you are probably wrong. I think that Wesley was competing to enter in a special program for geniuses that was open to kids younger than regular Academy applicants, not trying to enter the Academy in the normal manner.

Characters walking instead of running in an emergency. I was watching Schisms last night, and Data detects some massive technobabble explosion in one of the cargo bays, potentially killing everyone inside. So he informs Dr. Crusher and the next scene is... Crusher and her medical team walking to the cargo bay at what cannot even be described as a brisk pace. LIVES ARE AT STAKE and she's walking to the scene of the incident in the same manner that I walk to the fridge to get milk for my Captain Crunch. It makes no sense in-Universe and it's not exciting to watch. TNG does it all the time. Drives me nuts.
This x1000. The brisk walking during red alerts drives me nuts. RUN, people!!! Your lives literally depend on it!

I wonder if that was some sort of Roddenberry edict to show how 24th Century people were so much more evolved than us that they didn't panic in emergencies or something. :barf:

:guffaw:If that's actually true, that's hilarious.

I suppose by the time Seven of Nine and T'Pol came around, the producers were like, "...Hey can we have them run more? And maybe jump rope while they're doing it?"

I don't think I ever saw Seven run on VOY. Either way, they had her in some sort of corset for the show, which I presume would eliminate the chance for jiggling. It specifically had these cups which made sure her boobs stayed separate "mounds" so no tight clothing would give her a monoboob.

Jolene Blalock wore significantly less on ENT, but her boobs just didn't move much - presumably because they were implants or something.

I know it's a space station and not a starship, but for the first few seasons of DS9, the station was commanded by Commander Sisko, and not Captain Sisko. It's easy to extrapolate that there are other commands led by ranks lower than captain.

I've complained about that, too!

I think the episode, for example, was "The Nth Degree" where the ship were mere minutes away from destruction and Barclay could save it, yet he was just doing a brisk job to where he needed to go. Mere fucking minutes and he's a tad over power walking.

It doesn't look like it's meant to be used that way.
well, yeah...umm. Handrails are generally meant for your hands, but when the going gets tough, you gotta take shortcuts.
