So, I'm confused. Is he in or is he out? Asking for a friend. :shifty:

Doc: Go in and order a Pepsi and wait for a guy named Griff.

    Marty: Griff?

Doc: Right. Griff's going to ask you about tonight. "Are you in or out?" Tell him you are out! Whatever he says, whatever happens, say "no!", you're not interested. Then leave, come back here, and wait for me.

Not that I would check any of the haters YouTube channels, but I bet they all think with Chabon now officially in charge of STP that Kurtzman is fired from Star Trek in general. Are they spinning it that way? I wouldn’t be surprised if they are.

Has anybody actually said NO in this thread yet?

If not, then NO, Kurtzman has not been fired and is Not OUT.

the pessimist and realist in me suspects the real reason they don't like Kurtzman isn't going to make them like Chabon any better.

They like him for not being Kurtzman. When he releases his Star Trek they will hate him.

The spin is kurtzman out. Chabon in. Even though kurtzman was never showrunner of Picard

Every indication is that Chabon is every bit the "SJW," "libtard," identity-politicking guy that Dumbcock and the like fear.

In other words, he could be the very type of guy who tends to make great Star Trek.

I'd dread the day new Star Trek is made that they actually like. Then I'd know something is wrong.

Not only he is not fired but Kurtzman is not going to get fired. He is going to stay until this era of Star Trek (Kurtzman Trek) is over.

Basically he is the new Rick Berman. Berman never got fired and Berman Trek lasted 18 years.

I don’t want to do the math, but how much of Berman era Trek was “good”?
Not that Kurtzman is going anywhere anytime soon, but I also don’t think he’s going to get as a long a leash as Berman did.

    Hmmm... My opinion only...

    TNG-1... Mixed
    TNG-2... Okay
    TNG-3... Good
    TNG-4... Good
    TNG-5... Mixed
    TNG-6... Great
    TNG-7... Mixed

    DS9-1... Okay
    DS9-2... Good
    DS9-3... Good
    DS9-4... Great
    DS9-5... Great
    DS9-6... Great
    DS9-7... Great

    VOY-1... Okay
    VOY-2... Mixed
    VOY-3... Mixed
    VOY-4... Good
    VOY-5... Mixed
    VOY-6... Mixed
    VOY-7... Okay

    ENT-1... Eh
    ENT-2... Zzzzz
ENT-3... "Good" (not my cup of tea, but even I can see it's better than S1 and S2)
    ENT-4... Okay

    Good to Great Seasons: 11
    Okay: 5
    Mixed: 7
    Forget It: 2

So, basically, when it comes down to the combination of what I think is good and I like, it's:

    TNG-3
    TNG-4
    TNG-6

    DS9-2
    DS9-3
    DS9-4
    DS9-5
    DS9-6
    DS9-7

    VOY-4

Is Kurtzman shit-canned? Let's ask Jonathan Frakes:

    Guess that settles it.

Is Kurtzman in the soup line yet?!

Problem being that ratings went down every single season. We even lost a portion of DS9 during the tail end of its run because the cost was more than the local station could reel in from commercial time.
