How many versions of TOS do we NEED?

All I can get. Love TOS and the 23rd Century. I stopped buying TrekLit set in other time frames is how much I love it.

You got your wish as after SNW there will be no more stories set in the 22nd, 23rd, or 24th century.

It will ALL take place in the 32nd century (which is where Star Trek Discovery took Modern Trek™) starting with the Star Fleet Academy series.

(Hey, welcome to how TOS fans felt when TNG started and any calls to have someting in the 23rd century TOS era was considered 'past Trek'. )

Well let's not forget we still got a couple movies in the 23rd century during TNG. As for Starfleet Academy it's an alternate future. So there...

Well, a Kirk. And we saw three missions?

Five, I think, technically. Investigate Vulcan distress call, scout Nibru, kill "John Harrison," mediate peace talks on Tenax, investigate nebula distress call.

I think that actually beats TNG. Respond to Amagosa distress call, patrol Romulan neutral zone, induct new Federation member, diplomatic meeting with new Romulan praetor. People call Kirk a cowboy, but Picard spent half his movies freelancing without Starfleet knowing what the hell he was up to!

Wait, it even ties with the TOS movies, even though there were twice as many actual films. Intercept cloud, training cruise, investigate Regula One distress call, rescue Nimbus III hostages, escort Klingon chancellor. Is KT Kirk the only Starfleet captain who can do his damn job on the silver screen?
