Either would apply. I'm certain there must have been some scenes without any of the three (maybe Mary Wiseman was doing the emoting instead?).Nice hyperbole.
Or exaggeration, either or.

99.9% of the series?Either would apply. I'm certain there must have been some scenes without any of the three (maybe Mary Wiseman was doing the emoting instead?).
Which what? Characters I engaged with in Kurtzman's era or Berman's era?Which, out of interest?
Berman's; you'd said most were unappealing save for one or two exceptions?Which what? Characters I engaged with in Kurtzman's era or Berman's era?
Sisko, Bashir and Ro. Tom Paris sometimes and Torres occasionally.Berman's; you'd said most were unappealing save for one or two exceptions?
Paris and Torres are interesting choices; certainly often finishing well behind the easy fan favourites of Janeway and Seven. Is it their troubled less-than-perfect histories you find appealing?Sisko, Bashir and Ro. Tom Paris sometimes and Torres occasionally.
No, they just feel more real.Paris and Torres are interesting choices; certainly often finishing well behind the easy fan favourites of Janeway and Seven. Is it their troubled less-than-perfect histories you find appealing?
Reality must suck. The most realistic Voyager character is probably the most boring one, the Eternal Ensign.
Reality must suck.
That's pretty much my brand.Have you ever been promoted for being quietly competent?
That's not realistic. The most realistic Voyager character is probably the most boring one, the Eternal Ensign.
Yes.Have you ever been promoted for being quietly competent?
My point is that in virtually every job you get there is always a dose of "luck". We do not live in a universe where personal interactions are commanded by Newtonian mechanics. I don't understand the need to point this out in this case.Your point there, Chief? All I said was it looks like he lucked into it, didn't say anything attacking him for it.
Most unfortunate.
Star Trek should have stayed dead
My biggest issue with NuTrek is that it's so repetitive. I mean, sure, most of old Trek, was episodic, but NuTrek was supposed to be, well, new, and yet they are already reusing the same action scenes and plotlines movie to movie,
series to series (How many times have we seen main characters jump through space now?
Disco season 2 and Picard Season 2 both focused on evil AI,
small universe syndrome in spades, etc.).
That's very fair.
There's no chance in hell you'd get a wink through the excessive bangs, sparks, and Sonequa Martin Green crying, whooping and screaming through every scene.![]()
Oh hey, a nominal Star Trek fan whose fandom is actually about using ST as a way to make themselves feel superior to others on the basis of the idea of fandom as...
(...a load more self-righteous twaddle; edited for length)
...over-acting leveled against black actors (Avery Brooks, anyone?) for making the kinds of acting choices that white performers make on a regular basis without such claims.
No. 25 seasons of Rick Berman was enough. It was passed time for him to go. Eventually that time will come for Alex Kurtzman too... just not right now.I never thought I'd say this, but,
"Cone back, Berman and Braga. All is forgiven"
