How about a sequel?

Admiral Jean-Luc Picard

Commodore
Commodore
Star Trek returned for 6 movies.
Next Gen lasted 7 seasons plus 4 movies.
DS9 & VOY both lasted 7 seasons and got conclusive endings.

Enterprise had a good 4-year-run, but the finale just left too many questions and a bad taste in the mouth.

TNG has gotten a sequel of sorts in the form of Picard. Why not do something similar to Enterprise? Imagine Admiral Archer, some 10 years after the Federation's founding, reassembled the old Enterprise bridge crew for a special mission. We could learn that Trip faked his death, which was done in the novels, I think, to join Section 31 or something.

Think there'd be an audience?

With the Enterprise being a museum, imagine the crew getting a rundown NX-class ship or perhaps a newer ship. Depends on the story.

I'd give it a watch because I like ENT these days. But I'm not sure if the ones in charge of Trek would be interested in making something like this. Also not really sure if there would be an audience for it.

I think the show was great and it's my #2 after TOS.

Maybe not a reboot or a sequel but if an aging Admiral Archer showed up on an episode of
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds that would be cool.
Or any other member of the crew.
How long do Denbobulans live? T'Pol is still around at that time too.
Could happen. Who ever thought we'd see Captain Pike again? Or Number 1?

Discovery is a prequel to the original show, can't possibly be called a sequel to ENT. X cbaracter guest starring on another show isn't a sequel, it's just a crossover episode. No one has faith in a revival?

There's literally nothing more I want from the Star Trek universe than an Enterprise era show. Not very many share this opinion though. And almost certainly no one currently working for CBS.

Basically the Section 31 series should be 22nd Century based, which would make more sense than what they're planning. Set it in a time when the Federation is either early days or doesn't even exist yet, and there's no higher moral authority opposing their activities. You then catch-up with Enterprise NX-01 crew members, guest-starring pretty much as Next Generation ones gradually are revisited on Picard. You get characters who've been promoted, or left Starfleet, or gone into Federation politics. You get Jeffrey Combs back playing Shran and Gary Graham as Soval. You get the reasons why nobody ever twigged that Vulcans and Romulans are the same race. And then you reveal Trip's not dead in an end of season cliffhanger etc.

Then, I remember it's basically just a star vehicle for Michelle Yeou (who's Mirror Universe Georgiou character I utterly detest and popularity I cannot fathom). It will be the ridiculously not remotely covert Section 31 of the Discovery era... and yeah, there it is... suddenly I'm depressed again.

It don't even have to take place on the Enterprise. It could be on another starship, going on a adventure during early years of the Federation.
One of Trip unname nephew parents could be serving on that ship.
The episode that Trip nephew was mention. Was the one when fourth grand school kids were sending pictures and asking question. Trip had to give answer to a bathroom question.

A series on the early years of the UFP might be interesting, Bakula is old enough to be play Archer as President. A UFP West Wing set in Paris might be worth watching with Captain Mayweather, General Malcolm Reed, Ambassador Sato, Admiral Shran, honorable mentions of offscreen T'pol with her human husband who closely resembles Trip Tucker, their son Lorian could be a young Lieutenant.

I can imagine them doing the Romulan War at some point should the current Trekspam plans continue, but I imagine it'll have a new cast like the unmade movie ST: The Beginning.

I can see them doing a Short Trek with Trip or something, tying into Strange New Worlds or Discovery.

1 would love a sequel..
2. won't happen for a LONG time probably.. there's no momentum behind the idea.. but it will happen.. eventually.. I might be 70 by that time..

That's not how a sequel works. DSC does mot feature characters from ENT nor does it build on any of the storylines from that show. It's a prequel/spin-off to the original series, but not a sequel to ENT.
Me thinks you are taking that too literally and seriously. :bolian:

Anyway, I don’t see any of the Enterprise cast coming back.

So by that logic, TNG isn’t a sequel to TOS. Which is absurd.
I think intent matters. Yes, TNG was envisioned as a spin-off sequel. The idea of the Enterprise-A already existed at the end of TVH. From there, they decided to jump forward to an Ent-D in the future with a new crew. It's a spin-off sequel.

I don't think anyone said, "Hey, let's do a sequel to that show no one watched." Instead, it was conceived as a prequel to the original show, but it's a spin-off in that it's about a different ship instead of the Enterprise under Pike's command.

Yes, I know what it was conceived as. But the question you originally asked was if there will ever be a sequel to ENT, and I said that the best sequel we’re ever going to get is DSC, ‘sequel’ in this case meaning a follow-up. One could also conceivably say that the Kelvin universe films are also follow-ups to ENT, since there are several references to the show in those films, even though they take place in an alternate universe.

I guess I am using sequen in the more traditional sense of... setting the show, movie, or Short Trek 10 years after the show ended. Select characters return mixed with new ones. We see NX-class ships and whatever were the first Federation starships. This could actually be a great concept for a TV show, honestly, if done right.

I really wish the Short Treks series would bring back some of our favorite characters. Lots of potential, imo.

A sequel to a prequel that's also a prequel made as a sequel before another prequel-- this is going to get into Dr Seuss territory waaaaaaaay too quickly...
