Fargo, Season 5. Bout darn time

Then check out the most recent season of The Morning Show. Okay, he's not a villain but definitely an arrogant antagonist.

If I had AppleTV I might, but I don't. Either way, if there's one thing I always knew he played well it was arrogant antagonist.

That was really good, it's nice to see the show is hugely enjoyable even when Dotty isn't around (though I hope she's back next week.) No Farr either, hope he'll be back again.

The only thing that bugs me about Olmstead's marital situation is that I can't see how those two every got together in the first place. He is an absolute dick though and his speech about what he wants from a wife was just laughable (anyone else suspect he's shagging his physical therapist? Note the squirts of cologne before he went out)

Any lingering doubts that Roy isn't an absolute c*nt were blown out of the window by him slapping his wife, even before we learn quite how badly he treated Nadine. (as an aside I wonder what his plan was once he got Nadine back? Kill her or insert her back into the home and dispense with wife #3? Given her dad has a heavily armed militia behind him I'm not sure how that'd work.)

I like how they've played both Roy and Lorraine, initially hinting at a certain (twisted) honour in Roy which proves to be just a mask he wears, while initially showing Lorraine as an icy bitch but now showing hints of humanity. I thought the scene between Olmstead and Lorraine was brilliant, and of course Lorraine's the kind of person who would respect someone who stood up to her. I'm not sure Olmstead should take that job either though!

I love how useless Gator is , and how Roy was thinking about walking away from Dot until Ole of all people suggested he do otherwise, and I loved the scene in the strip club between Vivien, Danish and Lorraine on the phone, although shitty as that guy was I don't envy anyone caught between Roy and Lorraine!

When the bad guy attaches a tracker, I would lke to see the person being tracked, take their car in to get it fixed, have the mechanic find the tracker and give it to the customer. If I was that customer, I would take it to the local truck stop, find a Semi with Canadian provincial or Mexican State License plates and attach the tracker to the tractor.

I can't decide what to watch first, the shield or Fargo. I haven't seen anything of both shows.

The Shield is one of my all time favorite shows. As good as Fargo is, I like the Shield better.

I swear I saw something like that in a movie or TV show but I can't place where.

Holy fuck, I need a neck brace after the whiplash of those final minutes. :(

Something about Linda in Camp Utopia felt, well, off and not just because it felt a little too good to be true. But still, it was crushing to see it was all in poor Dot's head at the truck stop.

And THEN the freak accident with the truck and suddenly there's Roy at her hospital bedside as if this was all ordained. Fuck me. Can Dot please catch a fucking break already?!

Regardless of the reality of the situation, at least now we know the full circumstances of Dot's past, as well as Gator's parentage. I do wonder if Linda is still out there somewhere, but I suspect she won't miraculously appear by the end. She's merely a fantasy at this point.

Speaking of Gator, this has become a weekly check-in but: How dumb is he? Jeez Louise!

But coming back to Camp Utopia, the Lindas reminded me of Holly Hunter's group in Top of the Lake. The similarities are superficial at best but I was almost immediately reminded of them.

I have to admit I was surprised by Lorraine's rebuff to Roy when he first met with her. Up to that point, I was all but certain she'd have happily let him take Dot off her/her son's hands.

One of the best "it was all a dream" reveals I've seen on tv, as it told us so much about Dot's history and backstory. The true tragedy is that it was only in a dream that she could bring Roy down through non-violent methods (going to the police with LInda.)

Roy is everything Lorraine abhors in someone. Roy dismisses women as second class citizens and dismisses Lorraine at his peril. Lorraine cares mostly for her own flesh and blood. The loss of Dot would cause her son and grand daughter distress. That is something I don't think Lorraine will allow, and she has the means to destroy Roy and his 'criminal christian empire' and enjoy every minute while doing so, in spite of her distrust of Dot.

I would start with Fargo because it has fewer episodes, meaning you can then follow that up with "The Shield" in the not to distant future, depending on how fast you binge the episodes.

Finally started watching it. Really good so far. Jon Hamm as Incel Supreme chasing his escaped abused wife, the wife with her new family pretending nothing is wrong.

I wouldn't call him a incel. Incels can't ever get women to date them. He is just a flat out abuser. He is also sort of man out of time because he someone who would have fit in during the 50's or 60's. I like that the FBI is trying to arrest him though. It wouldn't be realistic if he was getting away with this behavior, unnoticed in a modern setting.

Not sure it would be hard for Lorraine not to bring him down. Their is enough evidence out their that if released on the internet that would make his abuse become a national story. Especially since the setting is 2019 which is just one year after the Metoo blew up and something like this would I think make it even easier to bring him down.

I want to see Lorraine bring Roy down in the most Lorraine way possible, like what she did to the banker but using the information she obtained from officer Olmstead.

Lorraine is still a bad person and this a show where people usually end up paying for their sins so I am kind of hoping she and Roy both die. How I would do it is have Ole come in like the unexpected wrinkle and kills both of them and just vanishes. Maybe we see the alien spaceship again and that explains him being a man out of time.

Wayne inherits his moms empire and releases people from their debit, hence the car scene where he was wanting to do a straight up trade than screw a family out of money.. Gator gets arrested by the FBI people and goes to jail. DIdn't quite get their man but they got the second best thing to that. Indira leaves her husband and also leaves her job and her and Dot create a women's shelter or something for abused women. Dave Foley just switches sides. Works for Wayne and Dot. Witt gets a promotion.

Thanks for the tip but I already started with the shield, I am 3 episodes in and like it so far.
