Concerns about the new ST

eh, what? I felt Season 2 was the weakest. wasn't the budget cut for it? no Dr. Crusher....
It's unfortunate TNG didn't get 8 seasons like they were thinking of doing. It's personally my favorite series although all are great in their own way
Not that I'm a huge TNG fan, but season 7 was a mixed bag, especially "Sub-Rosa." It felt like they were running out of ideas.
You could say Tom Paris was in TNG. Nick Locarno was just his secret identity. :D
He was genetically engineered and then reentered as "Thomas Eugene Paris." His dad is actually adoptive, and supervised his reintroduction to Starfleet to see if a genetically engineered soldier would work against the Dominon. Unfortunately, things went wrong.

Especially when you count bisexual people, the standard old school percents I've always heard is 5 to 10% of the population will self identify as LGBT. Considering that social pressures will cause some people to repress their true self, the percentage may well be a bit higher than that. Considering that for the last fifty odd years Trek has been virtually all hetero, I'm ok if there's slightly more that than.

That song is a matter of taste. I think it's horrible, like from some cheesy teen drama. Yep, Enterprise started slow, but there is no room for that in modern tv. Series will be axed quickly if it's not good from the start (people will abandon it)

In all fairness, streaming is a game-changer that allows for a slow start by network standards. ENT ratings might not have been enough for UPN but by basic cable standards, they were great.

Most of the time, the true fan card gets pulled to justify someone's hate for ENT. But it's never a good thing to see it, no matter what side it's from.

Oh, for God's sake, this again?
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing too. I'm surprised the moderators let the thread go.

I thought it started losing steam in the fifth annd sixth season. Trek shows have three or four good seasons in them at best. ;)

I was talking about TNG
you said trek shows are not good after three or four seasons? I disagree.

As for the other people..... in 2014 the NHIS reported that 1.6 percent of Americans identified as gay/lesbian, and 0.7 percent as bisexual. That's 2.3%. Statistically speaking one of the six or seven main characters wouldn't fit in that group. If they do it it's simply for the sake of pandering. As I said.. DS9 had a legit story reason for the brief lesbian story.... this surely won't

why do you care so much?

13 episodes works for me as they can dump the filler crap--look at the sheer awesomeness that is/was "Firefly"!

As for LGBT, all the characters should be non-heterosexual (to make up for the lack of orientation diversity thus far) so it's just a 60 minute orgy on screen for every episode
