Big Brother USA - 12. Season Commentary Thread

The great thing about this game is that Brendon's target is shrinking and Matt's is growing, when last week at this time it was the complete opposite.

At least Lane has had the common sense to maintain ties with Hayden and Enzo, even as he and Britney form a bond. Matt is too busy playing all sides of the house.

I'd propose it be better to get rid of Matt before Brendon, unless your name is Ragan.

Despite my swearing off this show two years ago, I do still run across inside information from time to time. And here I am... wanting to share.

On last night's feeds Lane was caught masturbating in the shower. This was after a lengthy conversation with the other boys about sex. Obviously he isn't the brightest crayon in the box choosing the very public very brightly lit bathroom to choke the chicken. The house has several quite private places to clean the pipes.

Anyway, much to my chagrin, the bit has been recorded and leaked to the interweb for all the world to see. And being one of those silly voyeurs, I spent several minutes laughing and pointing this afternoon at this Lane person. (I refuse to admit that I watched it several times just so I could laugh and point some more.) Besides his barely masked "O" face he spends most of his spank time picking at his ears and nose to try and "cover up" what he is really up too. In all the years I watched BB I have never seen anything like it.

I don't believe I can give you a direct link to the Lane's Private Affair but I can give you directions. Try looking up the gossip site dlisted and... enjoy.

Is CBS afraid ratings will plummet without Rachel? Ragan may be my least liked remaining houseguest, but Rachel coming into the house and piling on him in the tone and language she did was uncalled for.

Who do you think goes home tonight?

The episode was surprisingly fun imo, I expected it to be extremely cringe-worthy but it was actually enjoyable; Ragan gave it to Rachel pretty good, or at least the edit made it look like it. ;)

Imo it's:
50% Kathy
20% Britney
20% Enzo
10% total surprise nomination

eta: included in the 10% is also the tiny chance that Lane goes home.

What a night! Power really does shift quickly in this game. Enzo and Hayden did actually tell Matt just before eviction that they were planning to vote him out - Matt wasn't happy about this and has been joking around with the other Brigade members about how much they have been kissing Brendon's ass and how he's the lowest man on the totem pole. It's hard to tell how serious he is but I'm sure he's taking it all into consideration.

The veto falling apart was hilarious!! So janky.

Good for Britney, she has really been missing her family lately and I'm glad she will get a letter and pictures.

I do feel so bad for Kathy though, surprise evictions are the worst!

Brandon took it like a man at least, or he was just shellshocked, I don't know. I was hoping for a bigger reaction - like Ragan and Britney, only angry instead of happy. ;)
Btw, Britney's little "happy dance" after voting was hilarious.
Now he can't take revenge on "his woman's" behalf (unless he wins POV, gods forbid), poor guy. I hope Rachel strips him of every cent he owns and then some before kicking his stupid ass out so he learns his lesson.

I think taking Kathy out of this game ups the ante.

There is no more Kathy "safety blanket", no more "Oh if someone uses the POV, we'll put up Kathy and she'll go home", no more "Oh, we can put up Kathy and she won't mind."

Kathy's game was a decent one, treating it as a game and not going personal like Rachel. But she lost points with me for running back and forth to the power. You can play that game, but why play it so openly?

I'm glad that Kathy is out of the game but the Brigade has basically written Matt off now because he didn't put up Britney. Enzo especially is pissed that Matt didn't get Britney out with that move, he thinks it was wasted on Kathy and proves that Matt isn't truly loyal to the Brigade.

It looks like Matt will probably go home this week. Britney had nominated Enzo and Brendon and Brendon won POV. Everyone besides Ragan is throwing Matt under the bus like crazy. I feel bad for Matt because he doesn't seem to suspect it at all!

I'm starting to think Matt made a terrible mistake in making the safe play and nominating Kathy instead of going for gold and nominating Enzo. Clearly the Brigade is no more and Matt is on the opposite side now, it's just a sort of cold war at the moment. I don't think Britney will nominate him this time, but he's in big trouble if he or Ragan don't win the next HOH.

eta: and lol at Enzo claiming Matt betrayed the Brigade when it was him who's been lobbying against Matt for weeks.

Of whose left, I would probably shed the least tears over Matt leaving. He was screwed either way with that power in my opinion. Either he doesn't use it and gets voted out or he uses it and his whole lie of nothing happening, however necessary, gets him in hot water. I think his major issue is that he has played the game too confidently. His whole speech to Brendon when he used the veto was arrogant and does nothing in a social game.

It will be interesting to see how Ragan fares after his boy crush leaves. Will he pull a Brendon and go on an HOH/POV rampage. I highly doubt it however.

I've liked Brendon since Rachel left, he got his balls back, and started playing the game. He definitely out ranks Ragan, who seems to have become the new Kathy, simply moping around.

Regan needs to get off my TV, now.

And I think he's "threatened" by Rachel which is why he always has to wail on her.

Sunday episode thoughts:

- Matt has to go this week if the other three Brigade members want to stay safe.
- Ragan continues to sink lower and lower in my ratings to the bottom. He’s man-crush on Matt is just getting worse and worse.
- Enzo has a good idea of talking to people and telling them up front that he’s going to vote for them, but that bit him in the ass hard.
- Britney and Ragan have to figure that Matt is going to ditch them too. He’ll take whomever to the final he can win against and he can’t take both of them or any of the three Brigade members. Sooner or later, they got to cut him loose.
- Brendon is a tool if he ever believed Britney would not put him up.
- Damn, Britney looked friggin hot in the Have/Have-Not dress. Damn.
- Ragan is sliding back into gay man stereotype mode. Seriously, acting like a “theatre queen” is his poker face? “The Big Fat Gay Drama?” I’m not homophobic, but I feel he gives the gay community a bad name.
- Best quote of the night: “Well Lane is…Lane.” – Hayden
- Enzo is no fool; at least he’s got Matt’s deception in his head.
- Britney is possibly the weakest HOH this season. Rachel might have put people up for stupid reasons, but at least Rachel didn’t go back and forth asking people whom she should put up.

POV SPOILERS

So Brendan won the POV, what are the odds Matt goes up?

From what I gather on the feeds, it's turning into a house vs. Matt kind of thing.

- Ragan is sliding back into gay man stereotype mode. Seriously, acting like a “theatre queen” is his poker face? “The Big Fat Gay Drama?” I’m not homophobic, but I feel he gives the gay community a bad name.

Sort of my thoughts. He needs to be voted out pretty damn quick because I'm tired of hearing about his drama that and I want him to be in the Jury House with Rachel.

Brittney did wear the H/HN competition outift well and being the only female in the house now I've got to get on her "train" a bit more even though she still annoys me. A few weeks ago she bitches about Rachel's calling of the house to see her HOH room. What does Britt do when she has an HOH room? Does the exact same thing, "Who wants to see my HOH Room?! OMG!"

It's no surprise that Lane's rubbing one out didn't make it to the show. God, Reagan's theater queen act during the comp. was just... ugh. I almost turned it off. And this comes from someone who has no problems whatsoever with gay people. I do have a problem with annoying people.

I am not homophobic, but I know many gay people through my life in theatre and living in Toronto near one of the largest gay communities in the world, but CBS has had a disturbing trend of finding the most effeminate gay men to play this game. Ragan is just another in a long line.

I don't know if it's the way I see the world, but if there was a gay man who came on the show who said "I am gay" and that was the end of it, except for missing his significant other (like anyone else) or a frank discussion on the subject of sexuality.

CBS seems content on continuing a stereotype.

POV SPOILERS

So Brendan won the POV, what are the odds Matt goes up?

From what I gather on the feeds, it's turning into a house vs. Matt kind of thing.

I still think it's below 50%. I don't know whether or not Britney likes Matt, but it just is not in her best interest to put him up instead of Hayden or even Lane and I think she knows that. Britney really shouldn't listen to anything Enzo says. If Matt goes now everybody except Ragan will almost certainly nominate her next imo. I don't believe for a second the rest-Brigade will keep her over Brendon at this point. At the very least she'll be a pawn against Ragan, but everybody knows what happens to pawns in BB...

Matt on the other would not nominate Britney now.

Spoilers!

Britney did indeed name Matt as the replacement nominee, as expected. She has firmly decided to place her eggs in the Hayden, Enzo, and Lane basket. She truly believes she is going to the final four with those guys, and each one of them came and campaigned hard for Matt to go this week. I don't know if it's the best choice for Britney, probably not, but she didn't really think for herself on this one, she let Enzo, Hayden, and Lane do all the convincing. They were hardcore about it too, going so far as to make sure that Ragan or Matt were never in a room with Britney without at least one of them there, so that they couldn't campaign for someone else to go up. Britney doesn't trust Matt at all and says she trusts the guys completely.

Matt thinks that it is Britney who has something against him and doesn't seem to realize that the rest of the Brigade has completely given up on him. Matt honestly believes he has a chance to stay and that the votes haven't been decided. He doesn't realize that not only are the votes decided, but that it was his very alliance that campaigned to put him up.

Ragan is the only person in the house I really like at this point, mostly because he is by far the most intelligent. He said that today was "eye-opening" for him and he decided to have a talk with Matt, during which he laid out all of the alliances in the house, correctly. He even told Matt, "I think you were involved in an alliance with Hayden, Enzo, and Lane, whether you will admit it to me or not, and I think that you don't even realize it, but you aren't part of that alliance anymore. The three of them have gone off without you." He was basically dead on, telling Matt that his own alliance betrayed him, that the votes have already been decided, and that there's a "snowball's chance in hell" of Matt staying this week. It's hard to know for sure but Matt doesn't seem to believe him. Matt is still completely denying any four guys alliance to Ragan and says that he believes the guys when they tell him they haven't decided yet. It's kind of sad really to see the other Brigade members flat out lying to Matt's face so effortlessly, as Matt continues to profess his loyalty to the Brigade. And Ragan even tells Matt what's going on but he doesn't believe him. Matt asked Ragan, so if I was in a supposed alliance with them and they are definitely voting me out now, why wouldn't they just be honest with me about it? Why would they continue to tell me I have a chance? Ragan correctly called that it's because they are trying to ensure your jury vote if they are in the final two.

I always most appreciate the player with the most astute observations, the one that can see better than the others what is going on around them. Ragan makes great observations and thinks very rationally about possibilities. He understands what's going on in this house and I like him for that! He also recognizes that he will probably be the one out in this week's double eviction.

Britney is going to regret her decision very soon. Those guys do not have her back. Not even Lane gives a shit about Britney. She will very likely be the next or the second next evictee imo. But I won't miss Matt either, the lie about his wife was really quite despicable if you think about it. I just hope that scumbag Enzo gets kicked out soon also.

There are two reasons I hate Matt:

1) The wife thing. That's low gameplay. Sure you can be deceitful and stuff, but that's just wrong.
2) He claim's to be this diabolical supergenius in the Big Brother game, but he's been on the block three times and no one trusts him, not even in an "he's the worst person ever so I'll take him to the end" like Will was.

Ragan's bitching on After Dark got to me last night. He was rambling on how about he'd vote for Brendon over any of the three Brigade members for reasons that seem to be only because they aren't saving his man crush Matt. Ragan goes up and down in my books from smart to incredibly stupid and this just continues the trend. He had a chance to vote out Hayden when he was up against Kristen, he could've voted against Lane when he was just up against Matt/Kathy and he can vote against Enzo this week. Don't bitch that you got played by an alliance just because you didn't see it.

Roger Wilco, why the Enzo hate? I will admit I'm growing tired of the stereotype, but why is he a scumbag?
