Big Brother USA - 12. Season Commentary Thread

Had to laugh when Hayden's HOH room consisted of, among other things, "fru-fru" shampoo, a giant bucket of super-weight gain/protein powder and a picture of him extreme snowboarding.

The CBS edit's are getting worse each season.

Do we really think Enzo and Hayden are going to vote Lane out instead of Britney?

I don't know. Maybe I suck when it comes to strategy in this game but I just don't get Lane or Britney's strategy at all!! Lane was hollaring at the camera that he put Enzo up for eviction because he couldn't win anything and contribute to the Brigade. Duh. Wouldn't that be someone that you would WANT to keep around until endgame rather than Hayden. Unless Lane has a man-crush on Hayden or something. Then, the irony of Enzo winning the veto and Lane replaces him with Hayden!!! :guffaw: Then Britney has the opportunity later to split the vote (Enzo to evict Ragan and Britney to evict Hayden) but Britney decides to evict Ragan also. She's always whining that Lane would consider putting her up for eviction but not Hayden. That was the perfect opportunity to test Lane's loyalty towards her without her being on the eviction block. She should have voted for Hayden and then Lane would have had to cast the deciding vote. But NOOOOOOO, she evicts Ragan and then has the audacity to start whining this week about being all alone against the Brigade trio. WAAAAAH. No sympathy for her predicament from me!! She made her bed...now lie in it...quietly.

Britney's strategy is puzzling. Sure, Lane probably wouldn't have voted against Hayden, but what did Britney have to lose by throwing Ragan a vote? She had to know that she had to win HOH or POV to make the Final 3 or did she really think Lane was going to take her?

I think she really believed that Lane had her back. I think she saw them as being a pair since the beginning and that they would never betray each other. Unfortunately she was completely clueless about how loyal he was to the other guys. The Brigade came out and told her about their alliance a couple of days ago and Britney was pretty sad, mostly because she realized there was no way to save herself this week. Who knows, if Lane had the deciding vote, maybe he would have kept Britney. But he doesn't have a choice anyway this week.

Lane never had Britney's back, under no circumstances would he have chosen her over Hayden or Enzo and maybe even Matt and Brandon imo.

^When watching him hang out around the house that definitely seems the case, but in his diary room sessions he repeatedly mentioned that he wanted to take Britney to the end. What incentive does he have to lie in the diary room?

I kind of hope Britney is able to find a way to make it off the chopping block. The Brigade needs to be taken down! :D

I think Hayden has all the incentive in the world to try and get Enzo to vote out Lane. It takes out all of his competition in the final stages or at least brings it down.

Let's face it: Enzo will not win any part of the HOH competition. Britney could, but she would bring Hayden to the end because she knows she can't beat Enzo in the final vote.

Enzo's head is so big though he believes he could win the final HOH in which case he's going to bring Hayden. It also makes him more receptive to getting rid of Lane at this point.

The only way Hayden doesn't go to the final is if Britney or Lane win the final HOH with the other in the house. Getting Enzo to vote out Lane leaves no blood on Hayden's hands and is the best strategic move for him at this time.

Right now, I'd be happy with anyone remaining winning. I like all of them on some level and I don't think any of them have done anything really "bad." Probably the person that deserves to win the "least" is Enzo who's coasted through the bulk of the game. Brittney while annoying and a bit of a bitch she's endeared herself to me somewhat over the last couple of weeks. Lane and Hayden are both decent enough guys who're "worthy" of the money. No one left in the game has done anything too terrible and from what I can recall Brit has nothing to worry about when it comes to her boyfriend/finacee as nothing she's done could've endangered her relationship. (Unlike the one chick who out-right cheated on her BF while in the house.)

So, any of them can win as far as I'm concerned.

I'd like to see Hayden or Britney win. As Trekker said, Enzo has coasted through the game, even though he believes he some kind of super genius. Lane, as has been stated in the show, doesn't really need the money.

Britney has had the toughest road to go, especially if she somehow escapes eviction this week.

Out of the brigade members left, I'd be cheering for Hayden. He's won the most competitions and played a good social game.

I just don't care who wins at this point, because I am not too fond of any of them. Well, I like Britney, but I doubt she'll make it past this week. The only interesting member on the Brigade was Matt, and he's gone. The other three are just so damn boring to watch. When they're not boring they are irritating, constantly bragging about how they have the best alliance in Big Brother history and are sure to be asked back for All-Stars. They haven't done anything, I don't know why they think they are so great.

As much as I know the show is supposed to be entertainment for us, for them, it's winning half a million dollars.

From that angle, that's why I like Hayden winning. He may have no entertainment value, but in each of his HOH reigns, he hasn't been the centre of people's wrath. He's played a good social game, probably second to that of Enzo, managing to keep his head out of the line of fire.

POSSIBLE INTERNET FOUND SPOILERS

So there's a rumor online that Britney was voted out, leaving the Brigade as the Final 3. They may not be the most interesting, but hell, their strategy worked.

And now, in retrospective...

Who will be the asshole?

I think Matt takes this. The whole wife lie was just too much for me. Even Brendon redeemed himself after his tirade to try and save Rachel from eviction.

Who will be the slut?

Rachel. Rachel. Rachel. For a girl that said to have found true love in this house, she paraded around like the Vegas girl she was. Honorable mention goes to Kristen for giving Hayden some fun.

Who will be the rules-manipulator?

Enzo. Most of this comes from the sites that review what goes on on the feeds and pro-Brenchel sites, but twice he got caught, at least by eagle eyed feeds viewers, breaking the have-not rules and eating. I like him, but if he broke the rules, it should've stayed fair.

Who will be the innocent hottie we all love?

I don't know if we all love her, but Britney takes this one. However considering her competition after week two was Rachel, Kristen and Kathy, she wins almost by default.

How hot will Julie Chen look this year?

As robotic as ever. In a combination of her and whomever writes her script, most of what she does could be done by the voice-over guy and he would be more interesting.

Seriously, Enzo needs to get voted out next.

I've had just enough of his ego. Do you think he or the Brigade would be anywhere if Hayden hadn't won three HOH's or Lane winning that one. The only competition Enzo won was a pointless POV when none of them were in trouble.

Sure, he's played a good social game, but it isn't the only reason the Brigade has made it further. In fact, its secondary to Hayden and Lane's wins.

The HOH competition they did at the end of last night's episode looked wickedly fun! Who won it?

No surprise to see Britt go felt bad for her but the guys did "respect" her enought to fill her in. At this point, again, I don't care who wins. I think Enzo deserves it the "least" but really any of them could win.

Tonight's show's thoughts:

- Enzo’s cooking after losing just further proves he has no idea what he’s doing in this game. Lane’s comments about what kind of man brings food out to guys freezing on a rope were spot on. That kind of stuff sticks with people.
- Lane’s DR’s have just become sad. It was fun when it started, now CBS cuts his edits into making him look like some inbred hick.
- If we didn’t know Enzo was Italian before, we sure do now.
- I could’ve done without hearing Ragan’s bitching again.
- It’s good to see Kathy isn’t resting on her morals. If this were the Kathy we saw in the game, maybe she wouldn’t have been so useless.
- Argh, Rachel…must…repress…throw up.
- Matt really didn’t plan for the aftermath with his wife. He goes down as the biggest tool in this game. It’s even sweeter that he didn’t win the game.
- The only time I like Ragan is when he comes down on Rachel. She is off in her own little world.
- America’s vote may not be a lock for Britney. There seems to be a growing Brenchel block on the CBS forums. I plan to vote as many times as I can for Annie, just to throw them through a loop.
- Congratulations Enzo! You’ve just won third place!
- Julie and her scriptwriters need to be fired. The host needs to carry the Thursday show and she doesn’t. She makes a good interviewer, but not a good host.

- The best BB is sound effect is after they do the initial flashback and it sounds like a car accelerating.
- The whole Andrew being a prankster thing looks even more stupid in retrospective.
- Andrew – still the worst player in Big Brother this side of Ronnie.
- It’s great to remember how much of a tool Brendon was before Rachel got voted out.
- The Zing Bot needs to be made a regular feature of future seasons.
- CBS seems to want to meet some kind of Rachel requisite.
- It’s becoming annoying to see how CBS directed the final three’s reminiscing is.
- If you aren’t with Rachel, you’re against her it seems.
- Rachel looked like she’s been possessed by the Las Vegas tourism agency when she says “I am Vegas” like it’s some kind of cult.
- Well that was a waste of an hour.

The recap show is usually a pretty big waste and it's always humorous to me how "scripted" and "forced" it all seems. But, really, I like all of these guys and forced to pick I'd say Lane "deserved to win the least" since he's already got money, then Enzo as he's been mostly riding coattails all season which leaves me with thinking Hayden deserves to "win the most" but, really, I'd be happy with any of them winning. They really did form one of the best alliances the show has ever had and did a good job of keeping it intact and secret.

Some of the clips of Britt during the recaps reminded me of how much of a hateful bitch I thought she was. And I really don't understand the problems Regan had with Rachel as it seemed she wasn't clashing much, at least not so obviously, with anyone else in the house. I partly think that Regan's "sexuality was threatened by her" which angered him or it's more likely the two of them just happened to have personalities that clashed heavily. They both could've done a lot of good just by shutting up and leaving the other alone, it seemed that at times they'd both go out of their way to piss the other off but Regan's continuing to harp on Rachel after she left the house ("OMG! They cloned Rachel and she's going to come in here and make our lives miserable!" he says, paraphrased, in the DR interviews) I think says a lot about him.

They do need to keep the "Zingbot" around and use it more. How dumb is Lane to not get the "That's what she said!" jokes and how to use it?! That joke has been around for ages!

The Zingbot saying Hayden's hair looks like Justin Bieber's? :guffaw:

Honestly, I didn't find Rachel's laugh annoying. I love women's laughs and hers I found sort-of cute and endearing. The kind-of laugh I'd want to hear from a girl. It was a fun laugh. But I guess I might feel differently if I was hearing it almost constantly as a result of random things over the course of three months.

How do we think will win the "America's Choice" secondary prize? I'm not sure who stood out the most to win it, I sort of want to say either Brendon or Britt. But I could see Hayden getting it due to the "hot hunk" factor.
