Big Brother USA - 12. Season Commentary Thread

As soon as she came back in she started insulting Ragan, asking him if he was a bitch because he's gay and insinuating that because he's gay he's not actually a man. Lovely comments! Ragan has been insulting her as well, mostly her appearance and her drama queen attitude.

4:1 that they'll only show the part of Ragan replying to Rachel on tv.

Glad I decided to sleep instead of watch After Dark. I think I would have thrown something at the TV if I saw her.

She was actually much better without Brendan around. And by the same token Brendan has been much more palatable without Rachel around. It's like they were back in week 1 - not very likeable but at least not utterly unbearable.

I've liked Brendon since Rachel's been gone. It might be just because he's HOH, but it seems like he's been including himself and trying to distance himself slightly from last week's sillyness.

I don't know if he can just undo all the things he's said and done. If I were on the show with him I might put up a friendly facade, especially since he's HoH but I sure as fuck wouldn't forgive him.

I doubt that Brenchel will ever offer apologies for what they said or did. They think they've done nothing wrong and have been persecuted by the house. Though I doubt we'll ever hear apologies from Britney and Ragan, the latter of whom will win points in general for fighting back Rachel's homophobic comments even though he has been bad too.

What do you all think of Britney's supposed goodbye tape to Rachel being switched by CBS. Is Britney lying or did CBS switch it?

I'm not sure what's up with the goodbye tape. Britney later told Rachel, "well I did talk about your hair extensions and tequila, but it was supposed to be funny, not mean!" So either Britney is lying about being mean in the message or she is genuinely unaware of how rude she comes off when she's trying to be funny. Either way the whole thing is funny.

Rachel and Ragan did actually apologize and have a "talk" yesterday, after Rachel had spent an extended amount of time in the diary room...she came out totally different, being calm and talking things through with Ragan. Ragan seemed to really be trying to explain his feelings to her but who knows how genuine Rachel was about her apologies.

Ok, you are all going to think I am crazy but...

I actualy kind-of like Rachel's laugh. It's almost fun, flirty and sexy. I'd love sitting down and watching some funny movie with her and laughing with her. I dunno, maybe her red hair and fantastic body skews my thought some.

You're right...I do think you're crazy.

Pre-empted, in my area at least, due to a golf game going over (?!) bumping 60-minutes so, who knows when I'll see tonight's episode. Probably never.

Sunday thoughts:

- Brendon, love of your life? You just met her last month. Chill.
- Spitting in your faces? Wow, they got rid of the player who has won two HOH’s and kept the one who can’t seem to perform under pressure (before this week) And then the post competition rant, really?
- All of Brandon’s grandstanding and idiocy aside, I still like him better than Matt, Britney, and Ragan.
- I called Enzo “The Italian Howie.” At least Howie won an HOH. But at least he’s playing a good social and mental game. But as Matt said: “Neck and neck with Kathy?”
- The Brigade has to be the weakest alliance of four guys ever. Hell, Jase and his alliance might have been idiots, but at least they won comps.
- Britney, grow up. You were all high and mighty when your ass wasn’t on the line. People are of course going to kiss his ass; he’s the HOH in a social game. Enzo and Kathy will kiss ass and get further than you. Her whole “pity me cause I stood up to big bad Brandon and now I’m not safe” is stupid.
- Why does Brendon have a picture of himself as a baby in HOH room?
- I’d like to see a Brendon, Lane, Enzo, and Hayden final four. At this point, at least they are constantly playing and not floating like Ragan and Britney.
- I cannot wait to see this Saboteur shit over. As much as I like seeing ENT’s Future Guy get some work, it’s just lame. There has been no really big game changing saboteur moments and I doubt they would ever be.
- The whole lets vote what the Have-Not’s are going to eat is lame. Give us an actual power! Make the double eviction week an eviction on how we vote!
- I’d love to see these people on Survivor. Complaining about eating snails? Just wait until you have to eat cooked rat or bugs.
- Ragan was going to try to save Matt in a conversation with Brendon? What kind of clueless person is this? All talk of him being a smart player is gone now.
- The whole nominating Lane thing is just weird. Lane has always fought in the competitions. Want a non-competitor? Put up Kathy.
- Ragan’s whole “Brendon’s a coward” speech was revolting. Like Britney, he was fine to talk down to the guy’s face last week, but now he can’t understand why he’s nominated? Wow, and he’s a college professor?

I think he understands perfectly well why he's nominated, he just recognizes how ridiculous it is. Ragan actually WOULD keep his deal with Brendon, and if Brendon was just thinking logically it would be a good idea to work with Ragan. But all he cares about is revenge. I think Ragan was spot on with his comments. I also don't think he was going to go up to Brendon JUST to save Matt, I think he was going to try and persuade Brendon that the three of them could possibly work together, or that if Brendon kept both of them off the block they would do the same for him next week.

Also, the reason Britney has been so mad at Brendon is because of the comment he made during their fight outside, the one about "I wonder how many chicks Nick has been banging while you're gone." I guess that really super pissed her off and is "unforgiveable" to her. I don't know how smart it is for her to be so open about her hatred of Brendon, but I at least respect her for standing up to him. Everyone else plays nice with Brendon and Rachel and pretends to be all buddy buddy with them and then talks shit behind their backs. Britney and Ragan decided they couldn't take that anymore and fought back. I can't really blame them for it since some of Brendon and Rachel's behavior last week was pretty outlandish.

Anyway, I think it will probably be Britney going home this week, unless Matt decided to use his diamond POV on Lane for some reason and puts Kathy up instead.

Spot's Meow, I agree with you about Britney. I mean, she can be catty and sort of a mean girl but I really, really like honesty and I love the fact that she doesn't kiss Brendon's ass. When he said that to her about Nick banging other girls, I'd have said, "Yeah, well, how many tricks do you think Rachel will turn in the first night she's out of here without you? She's got to pay for her fake ass hair and botox somehow.":lol:

In truth, honesty won't win Britney the game but I do like her...people should at least know where they stand with her. People I've always liked the most and been good friends with were the ones that would straight up say what they felt. I have no problem disagreeing with people/friends, I just don't like the whispering behind the backs stuff.

Like I said, it won't get Britney the money but I respect the fact that she doesn't just bow down to him because he's HoH.

It's good that she has principles and I applaud her for having them, but this is a game where you have to kiss the HOH's ass to try and avoid going on the block to win the money, the object of the game.

I agree with you 100%. I'd never be on BB for that exact reason....I don't kiss ass and that would not bode well for my going far in the game.

Ragan used the veto (obviously) and Brendon nominated Matt, not Britney, which I'm very happy about for several reasons.

a) Matt gets the opportunity to use the Diamond Veto which I'm hoping will be very shocking to Brendon and at the same time it helps Matt because it explains his weird behaviour the last week to the Brigade. I kind of like Matt and I think this development is good for him. Whoever he nominates instead of him will be mad at him though I guess (I'm assuming it's Kathy)

b) It's another slap in the face of Rachel who I'm sure had something to do with Brendon nominating Matt somehow considering how much she hates him.

c) Britney probably stays. She's entertaining and cute, so I like her on the show. ;)

d) There's a small chance he could turn the game upside down, nominate Enzo or Hayden and really ally himself with Ragan and Britney (+Kathy?).

I'm really curious about who he will name as a replacement nominee. I think it will either be Kathy or Britney. He knows how much the Brigade wants Britney gone, so he may put her up for that reason alone. Plus they keep talking about how they want to keep Kathy around to the final 5 so that they can beat her in competitions. I think it will be an interesting episode this Thursday.

Yeah, it will be interesting, the twists worked out almost perfectly for BB in the last couple weeks (except for the super lame "saboteur" stuff) to create the maximum drama.

I think Britney is an unlikely nominee. Yes, the Brigade minus Lane wants her gone, but she's kind of close with Ragan I think and thus more of a natural ally for Matt than Kathy. And Matt has to feel like the Brigade is not that close at all and that he's clearly #4 on the totem pole in that alliance. So even if he decides he doesn't want to openly break with the Brigade yet, keeping Britney leaves him more options in the coming weeks I think.

I don't think Matt's stupid enough to put up a Brigade member at this juncture.

If he's really looking to break with the Brigade at this point, he puts up Kathy, a harmless target that really doesn't offend anyone if she goes home. She also follows the power, so it's not like he's putting anyone aligned with him up on the block.

That would leave him with Ragan and Britney intact and still no issues with the Brigade. Then, speaking from Matt's point of view, he let's Ragan or Britney win HOH, Brendon goes up with a Brigade member, one of which goes home, no skin of Matt's back.

Then the next week, whomever wins HOH is going to target one of Britney/Ragan, whomever was HOH. The odds of a Brigade member or Brandon (if he didn't go home the previous week) going up in the event of POV replacement on Britney/Ragan or a failed backdoor plan is pretty good.

Matt can play it safe and simply fade into the background until the final five.

However, if none of the three them win HOH next week, Matt and Ragan have to be the initial nominees, so if one wins POV, the other one goes home.

I agree voting out Kathy is probably his best move, it's certainly the safest. But imo the Brigade is clearly in trouble and whoever disassociates himself from the Brigade first could be better off than the others. Enzo, Hayden (with Brandon) and Lane (with Britney) already have started positioning themselves. Maybe they'll delay the confrontation until Brandon is gone, but if he doesn't go next week, the game is on imo.
