Best (modern) documentary?

Looking for the best ( modern) TNG documentary . So the best equivalent to "What we left Behind " or "To the Journey " from DS9 and VOY.

Official or otherwise.

Any out there that's more recently produced?

The Blu-rays have 2-3 hours of new interviews and retrospectives every season. They came out about five years before "What We Left Behind" but are pretty much the definitive documentary.

Besides that "Chaos on the Bridge" is by the same production company as WWLB/TTJ and covers the rough behind the scenes of the first couple seasons. Also in print format "The Fifty-Year Mission" is great.

I cannot remember what it is called so I cant Google it, but isn't there a recent ( may be even ongoing) Star Trek documentary series that's covering every franchise incarnation in depth? If so, the TNG episode is probably what I would want to see. Can anyone help me with that? I think its pretty highly regarded IIRC.

The bluray features are great but im looking for a more centralized/All encompassing documentary.

It feels overproduced at times, but "Chaos on the Bridge" is still an easy recommendation, especially if the DVD and blu-ray interviews don't answer all (and sometimes they don't).

You're probably thinking of The Center Seat.

Though that series is very stylized, is not in depth, and repeats a lot of half-truths and urban legends.

That's the one I was thinking of. Thanks.

Regarding repeating half truths, mainly TOS or even later shows? The reason I ask is because I know the TOS era is full of half truths. For TOS, I found the TV special "Inside Star Trek " quite enlightening at digging into and refuting many of those half truths.

Could be wrong , although TNG era has subjects that are not covered much /avoided ( Early dysfunctionality, Maurice Hurley, some tension amoung the cast) , most retrospective "official " interviews are generally historically accurate even though they leave stuff out.

I couldn't say for sure because it's been a while. Center Seat is all about sound bites and attempts at notable anecdotes.

It can be a fun watch though, so don't avoid it based only on what I say. (Never avoid anything based on what I say! :))
