I don't think I ever saw the original, but I watched the trailer to this yesterday and it actually looks good. It is very Tim Burton, but the cast makes me wonder if I should revisit the old movie before watching this one.

Evidently the sequel is coming out in September. I guess they want to give it theatrical time and then have it streaming some place for Halloween.

You should watch the original before watching anything else whatsoever. It's just that good.

I'd say Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, and Sweeney Todd were the best movies Tim Burton directed. With Batman Returns, Sleepy Hollow, and Big Fish as the runners up.

I'd put Pee Wee in the top 3 and knock out ST just on quotability and rewatchability but that's just me.
