I thought the episode ended a little "unwrapped," if you will. Some random guy is stuck in another dimension, and some random girl now has that on her conscience, and nothin gto do about it. :(

Also, why was there a particle accelerator in a small town at all?

I'm not convinced that Batesville isn't a (semi-fictional) suburb of Salt Lake City or Provo.

As it turns out, there used to be a settlement of that name in that state. Not sure that it still exists. Anyone from Utah with a better understanding of the local history lurking here?

Yeah, I commented earlier that the ending left me unsettled. I don't think it was bad, just not quite heroic. I think it makes sense because it was the way May handled it. The "new" May who gets the job done found this to be the most efficient way to do it. Now maybe it wasn't possible to save him, but I don't think they ever even discussed it. No one else on the team really heard what she told him, so she probably got away with it, but I was unsettled as well.

As for the small town. Cheap real estate would be a good reason if it's something that requires a lot of space.

And a proper-sized particle accelerator lab would need a lot of real estate.

This ep was kind of meh. The main story wasn't anything original, but it was nice to learn more about May.

just for an obscure observation, some-one was being creative with the sound effects on Tuesday night. When 616 had to make the emergency landing, the effects person had added in the normal sort of rumbling you get when an aircraft lands.

And S.H.E.I.L.D must have a doozey of an autopilot in their aircraft for all the time May's not at the controls :)

Nope, it started out a bit disappointing but it's picking up. I'd hated it if it had stayed generic.

Wouldn't go so far. Almost Human is already better 3 episodes in but Shield is improving as i said.

I just feel like any question that starts with "does anybody else think" (or words to that effect) has to be answered with "no, you're the only one in the whole world" regardless of the question ;)

^I've often restrained myself from answering such questions with a simple "no" myself.

If the Bus' autopilot evolves into Ultron, I'm going to cry.

I think after we find out Skye's last name, it'll be punfully obvious if she's really some one else.

If she grew up in an orphanage, she must have a legal last name, even if it's not her real one. Skye Doe...?

The pilot implied that Skye has erased all records of her true identity. She was doing the same for Mike Peterson, and he asked if that was possible, and she said "I've done it before" in an introspective tone.

So in the MCU the Great Refuge is in Liverpool? They must have moved it to hide it from FOX's lawyers.

Do you suppose that what she'd shown Coulson in "Girl in the Flower Dress" included copies of what she erased from everyone else's files about her? Would she have kept personal copies of that stuff?

The first two Marvel Orphans (Raised in an Orphanage, sorry Peter.) that come to mind are Rick Jones and Hawkeye.

Although, considering Jessica Drew was conceived in the early 1930s and then put on ice for several decades by the High Evolutionary, what are the chances she knew her parents, or was she secretly raised by Hydra he cultivated a perfectly normal childhood for, until they could turn her into a living weapon?
