The whole thing with the kid was pretty damn intense, I'll say. First the kid gets hit and is critically injured, then we see the young mom having to deal with her son dying, then we see that he's been turned (when he first showed up in the park, I thought he was a ghost, by the way). Then we get to see the difficulties of raising a kid, vampire style. That whole scene with him refusing to drink blood and throwing a tantrum was pretty powerful stuff. What a bind they were in. At that point, I actually did wonder if they'd have to kill him out of compassion, but didn't think the show would go that far. In the end when Aidan took him hunting for deer, I thought ... There we go, a good solution. Then the show did the unthinkable. Like I said... Pretty damn intense. That's not the kind of thing a show or it's characters can get away with or recover from. Viewers have turned their backs on shows for less. Even within the show, I wonder how long it'll take before we see Aidan and Josh buddy-buddy and joking around again. That can't come easy.
I wonder if Sally comes easy.

The opening voiceover that talked about needing to touch someone got my attention that way. I started thinking that Sally can't have sex and wondered how she'd get some, being a ghost and all. Then I figured that maybe she can meet another ghost who's up for it. Then one shows up and it looks like they're heading in that direction, but unfortuately it never went that far. I'd still like to see it happen at some point though.

Interesting to read about the variations in the US version. I really loathe Annie, so it would be interesting to see if I felt the same way about Sally.

I'd like to see the U.K. version, but I'm afraid it'll spoil the U.S. version too much. I may take the leap though.
Anyway, I forgot to mention something... Would the kid have been stuck as a kid? Or would he have aged at least to maturity? It would have been unfortunate if he were stuck as a kid forever.

Just like Kirsten Dunst in Interview with a Vampire, right? Or even, Let the Right One in. They both stayed as kids. Kirsten Dunst's character had pretty just turned into one.
Was Bishop's move with the bullies a scare tactic in getting Aiden to do the deed though?

^^ Absolutely.. I think it was two-fold in purpose.. To take care of the issue of having turned a kid and to perhaps turn the screw on Aiden one bit more, to make him realize he's better off with his own kind.
That bit at the end through me for a loop.. I was convinced that Mini-McLovin (LOVE THAT) had taken care of the kids...
And the resolution.. Amazed the American version had the balls to go where the UK version did not.. Brilliant and disturbing..
And am I alone in LOVING the soundtrack? I really hope they release it. The take on Tears for Fears' "Mad World" last night was fantastic.

yeah the show is getting better, powerful stuff with the vamp kid last night. also liked the ghost guy always reliving his death...I dont get why it bugged Sally so much though.

Bishop is played by the very talented, Mark Pallegrino, whom played Jacob on Lost, Lucifer on Supernatural and Rita's abusive ex husband on Dexter. And it was his orders, but his right hand man was the one to actually do it.
