Being Human - American remake on SyFy - Season 1 discussion & spoilers

Re: Being Human - American remake on SyFy - Season 1 discussion & spoi

Just like Kirsten Dunst in Interview with a Vampire, right? Or even, Let the Right One in. They both stayed as kids. Kirsten Dunst's character had pretty just turned into one.

We could also throw in Near Dark and Charlotte on Blade the Series.

Though on Being Human it could suck worse to be a ghost depending on what you were wearing when you died.

Wow, another 180 from the UK production. I did not see that coming.

Re: Being Human - American remake on SyFy - Season 1 discussion & spoi

Yeah, that was a pretty horrible thing for Aiden (and the kid and mother) to go through. After finding out that Bishop arranged for the kids' deaths, I'm wondering if Rebecca really turned the kid out of misplaced compassion or if Bishop told her to.

This show continues to be great. I hope the ratings are improving.

Being Human has been renewed for season 2.

Nice! I'm a little bit surprised, but very happy. :bolian:

So Series 4 of the UK version and season 2 of the US are both on the way. Wonder if it'll follow series 2 of the UK version like it has the first.

Juxtaposed against the arrival of four troubling coffins at the funeral home, flashbacks from Bishop’s past reveal his relationship with a human woman in 1955; Josh gets abducted.

Why were those elder vampires in the cocoons? I didn't catch the reasoning behind that.

And I liked the choice of actor they used to play the big boss vamp. He had a recurring role on The Mentsalist and I found him unlikeable.

Anyway, good epsiode, they did really well at capturing the cruel and dehumanizing treatment we saw towards Josh.

Can someone explain to me how the Elders can turn another vampire to dust just by feeding on him when we have seen other vampires feed on each other (Aiden and Rebecca) and be fine?

Also it appears that they are trying to make Bishop appear as a conflicted figure, someone who isn't necessarily bad (like Marcus) but isn't necessarily good either.

Lack of restraint? Two vampires feeding on one another to the brink of death and orgasm as social interaction vs. two experienced vampires simultaneously attacking another with the intention of ending the times of the victim?

I was surprised Josh was able to kill the other werewolf. i thought he said the older wolf was stonger?

Im really liking the werewolf design now, its neither just an XL wolf or a hairy guy with claws & fangs...its just some creepy...thing.

Re: Being Human - American remake on SyFy - Season 1 discussion & spoi

Yeah, they're almost ape-like the way they walk around on their hands.

A couple of things I don't understand, though. Why was Sally not able to use her poltergeist powers to do something, given how upset she was? And what was it that the Vampires tried to do to her when she appeared?

I'm also waiting for an explanation why the elder Vampires sleep for fifty years at a time and only wake up for a few days. And why they can't afford nicer coffins. :rommie:

Re: Being Human - American remake on SyFy - Season 1 discussion & spoi

They tried to hit her with an iron fireplace poker, I think.

Re: Being Human - American remake on SyFy - Season 1 discussion & spoi

Because iron disrupts ghosts? That's not much of a threat. It seems like she could have messed around with them, given the power she's demonstrated before.

Re: Being Human - American remake on SyFy - Season 1 discussion & spoi

She only has the power of plot. It's like how she can't pick up solid objects but she can sit on them and walk on them. :p

I thought they were gonna pull a reverse Rebecca where Aiden turns the nurse Bishop was in love with before she dies.

Re: Being Human - American remake on SyFy - Season 1 discussion & spoi

Yeah, I noticed the sitting and walking; but that's a mistake that's been made with just about every "unsolid" character ever. In reality, they'd all fall to the center of the Earth. :rommie:

Re: Being Human - American remake on SyFy - Season 1 discussion & spoi

So is the lead elder vampire gonna help Aiden and Bishop catch Red John?

They said they tried to dissipate her with a fire iron and it wasn't pleasant, can only assume that it has an effect on her.
