Honestly, I think The Clone Wars, Rebels, The Bad Batch, and the three Tales anthologies to date have hit it out of the park.
I don't include Maul yet as measuring up to that high standard, because it's still a work in progress; Maul is promising so far, but there's critical material to follow that it has to do well with, or the whole thing could end up a dud.
Resistance has at least one outstanding episode ("Rendezvous Point"), amidst a series that's—how do I put it?—overall not on the same level as everything else here.

I really liked Rebels, watched the entirety of it. Really tired of Rebels characters showing up in everything else.
And? I watched the story and moved on.
But the characters didn't.
From what we saw, it seems like the remaining Spectres split up right after the Battle of Lothal. Ezra was MIA. Sabine stayed to defend Lothal in Ezra's stead. Hera went back to the Rebellion as a General. Chopper would go with her as he was her droid. Zeb it seems decided to enlist as a pilot and operative. It is possible they all stayed together for a shot time afterwards, as we see the Ghost in combat at Scarrif, though we know only that Chopper and Hera were at Yavin at the time. They would have had plenty of gunners at the base so it didn't have to be Sabine and Zeb, but it could have been. But no one would be flying the Ghost into battle like that except Hera and Chopper.

Rebels didn't suffer when Ahsoka came aboard, quite the opposite. Plus, they had already had several truly outstanding episodes in the first season before she did, and many others afterwards without her. But also, the Rebels episodes involving Ahsoka, Vader, Maul, and other preexisting characters are absolute gems.
But apparently a small one.
Certain aspects of life have small worlds.
Pop culture franchises tend to create small worlds so as to connect everything more easily, simplifying writing and making audiences feel more at ease. Even Andor. which has the fewest cameos and callbacks of any Disney Star Wars property, still has some cameos and callbacks and references characters and planets hardcore fans would recognize.
True enough, but it's all the fact that some jobs and industries have more interconnected worlds than others.
Yep. It doesn't bother me. Small world syndrome has been baked into pop culture since I was little. Entertainment likes sure bets, and small world syndrome helps ensure those bets.
