Maybe they'll get a wrap TV film or short season.God I hope it isn't a cliffhanger. Sort of a dick move when you know you might not get a season 3. But I guess I do see the logic in that you might hope it might be enough to get a season 3.

Interestingly Star Trek is probably one of the safer properties in this acquisition.Ah. They added the cliffhanger in hopes to force a 3rd season. Lol. Well with the acquisition of warner bros(not finalized yet) paramount may not care. Paramount will own everything on HBO including the game of thrones franchise which sorry to say is far superior to the writing on kurtzman trek. I suspect we will not get much new trek after SNW and SFA end their currently filmed runs.
Theyll directly compete with disney now. Star Trek vs Star Wars. DC vs Marvel. A fight for the ages. LolInterestingly Star Trek is probably one of the safer properties in this acquisition.
Because WB doesn't really have any "Sci-Fi" properties of note.
WB's Babylon 5 is even more noteworthy than Deep Space Nine! (Prove me wrong Paramount, give DS9 a damn HD remaster already).Interestingly Star Trek is probably one of the safer properties in this acquisition.

Oh yeah B5. Its not as noteworthy as when it aired. They would need to do a full reboot to capture new fans.WB's Babylon 5 is even more noteworthy than Deep Space Nine! (Prove me wrong Paramount, give DS9 a damn HD remaster already).
Godzilla/Monsterverse?Interestingly Star Trek is probably one of the safer properties in this acquisition.

Oh yeah. They own that as well now. Wow. Star Trek really isnt their only cash cow now. Far from it.Godzilla/Monsterverse?
DCU?
Just shift to films.
Simple
You learn to live with it.I do think they will put a emphasis on that film they are working on. But it would suck for fans of Academy for the show to end on a cliffhanger that won't be resolved.

I don't care for films.
I want to push back on this point a bit (gently, though). "Everyone [...] loves T'Challa" now that Chadwick Boseman is gone. But despite the critical acclaim, Black Panther is still, to my memory, the first MCU film to fail to break into the IMDb Top 250, and it's hard not to feel like racism is the reason for that. There's a whole corner of Spider-Man fandom who bristles at the idea of calling Miles "Spider-Man" (I don't think they're a large group, but they get real loud sometimes). And ask John Boyega about some of the awful things that were said about him when his was the first face to appear in The Force Awakens' teaser trailer. As I've said before, it seems pretty clear if you look across multiple franchises that the bad reactions of fandom are more rooted in sexism (and homophobia) than racism.
Where recent franchise movies and TV shows have centered men of color (provided they're straight) backlash is pretty damn minimal. Everyone still loves T'Challa. Everyone still loves Miles Morales. No one had any issue with Finn in the Star Wars Sequels, other than him not being given anything to do past the first movie.
OTOH, every outing that has had a "fandom backlash" has focused on the female characters. Rey. Galadriel. She-Hulk. The list goes on and on.
I'd even say SFA fits this general mold. Caleb is the nominal lead among the young cast, and as a traditionally masculine guy of indeterminate ethnicity, he's gotten zero blowback, with the "fandom" folks focusing the most on SAM.
Guess I am just a very different kind of fan. I will always look foreward to new Trek with great excitement, and I cannot imagine me ever being okay with 'no more Trek'... No judging, just observing how different fans can be...No more Trek sounds ok.
If season two does indeed end on a cliffhanger, I have a big "Ffffffuck you!" for whoever decided to do that. Cliffhangers on uncertain-future shows is an asshole move. But it would suck for fans of Academy for the show to end on a cliffhanger that won't be resolved.

They have already filmed the finale, they were filming it during the red carpet premier thing so they'll have to hope they can get people back to create a new or additional ending. Maybe they're still under contractual obligations until the show is officially over? Still could be a bit of a rush.If the show gets prematurely cancelled, there’s the very real possibility that whatever cliffhanger ending S2 might have will be rewritten/reshot, just like the endings for DSC, LDS and PRO were rewritten, and how SNW will adapt to their truncated 5th season.
