Judging by the reviews this one looks like the biggest stinker 🦨.. 😂...I'm scared to even watch it now .. 😨

It has some cute character moments, but the main threads let it down imho. I was sure it was going to lead to Genesis not having a Dadmiral, and Ake hinting she knew, but no.

Definitely the weakest one so far. It didn't have enough to say for its runtime so parts of it dragged, time could have been diverted and had a scene or two with sam and the doctor at the holospa.

Darem once again has homoerotic scenes but stops short of doing anything about it.

The episode was saved with Reno's stubbed toe drama.

There seems to be a theme with a lack of reasons and foresight in the writing, why make the Khionians that special effect or makeup heavy if you know that you don't have the budget for it? I can understand that the visual representation of aliens can change depending on the budget but to have all the Khionians in disguise on their own moon for no reason it in the same season is jarring.

Also Genesis covering up her recommendation altering with the equivalent of a potential city leveling is silly :rofl:You would think that after the burn they would have at least half the planet on alarm if a warp core booted up on the ground(the saucer section alone has been seen in warp too in episode 4). Hell even just using Impulse has the potential for massive damage.
You would think there are safeguards, but with how Caleb the "genius" freaks out it seems like no.

I was expecting her to have the Mariner arc given the Tawny Newsome connection, not actually wanting the command track. lol

To be fair, she was doing that to freak Caleb out as a distraction.

Now how a couple of cadets can break into the bridge in the first place? Yeah.

Oh I just realized THIS is when they could have made a Paul Giamatti reference and directly referenced The Holdovers with Caleb having no family to pick him up...

There is also the whole dissonance of teleportation being made so effortless yet a trip to Ibiza is special, you could just do it on the weekend
Same for Ake and her enormous luggage but I will forgive that one because comedy and I don't remember where and how far she went or if it was said

There is a nice rule among the american "gun rules" that I appreciate even though i find the whole gun culture silly, you dont point a gun at people even if you know it is not loaded. She has a veeerry big gun equivalent :D

There are Slugs that have their own Internal Warp Capabilities?

WTF?

That is so broken as a form of innate "Biological Ability".

Talk about being faster than any Comic Book Speedster in existence.
Warp capable organisms have been a thing since the TNG era.

Now the real question is why nobody started using those sorts of creatures as draft animals after the Burn.

Ask your doctor about Ko'Zeine.

In rare cases, some people may experience side effects while watching Ko'Zeine. If you experience euphoria, anger, confusion, befuddlement, giddiness, malaise, or slight itchiness of the earlobes, discontinue Ko'Zeine immediately and post on the internet.

It's time to start finishing your season. Ask your doctor if Ko'Zeine is right for you.

I feel like we should have gotten more from Nahla Ake about how she is coping with the trauma from the previous episode. After all, she is the chancellor. She is responsible for these cadets. What happened would have had a big impact on her. We just get a few lines about how she did not intend for the cadets to go through something like that so soon or ever but I think we should have explored it more. Perhaps we could have gotten a scene between Nahla and Luro or Nahla and the Doctor where they discuss it. I think it could have added more gravitas to the episode. Having an episode with two B plots was weak.

Also does anyone else feel like Genesis overreacted to her letters of recommendations? If all they said was that she does not think she belongs, that is not a reason to break into the bridge and alter them and risk getting expelled. Maybe she overreacted because she is so young. She is basically your typical college student. We know they can do dumb stuff. But I would say let the committee weight all the evidence. Genesis has excellent grades. She had the confidence of the chancellor who recommended her for the pre-command track. That says a lot. The committee might not have cared about what the letters said since her academics and character at the Academy are good.

How did Genesis plan on getting the documents had Caleb not been there?

Maybe exploring space on the back of a smol slug is not the same as cruising around on the Enterprise.

And the slugs seem to be restricted by both physical barriers and lines of sight, so fairly limited in aspect.
